One of the best things about being a Kaiako (Teacher) is the little hands that reach out to remind us that we are doing an important job and are making a difference to little lives.

Te Kete Rangimārie needs kaiako to choose to teach from Rangimārie so they can be the steady beat for children to co-regulate. Actively teaching ways to regulate and find Rangimārie is something we have embedded in life at TK.

Here at Tōtara kids,each fortnight we choose a strategy to support the tamariki in finding Rangimārie (Peace, Harmony, Acceptance) during times of big emotions.

This fortnight we are going to focus on a Strategy from Rebekah Ballagh (a local nelson qualified counsellor) Called Self- Hug
