New Zealand weather can give us four seasons in one morning, so dressing your kiddos (& yourself) for outdoor play can feel a bit tricky.
Our favourite approach is layers. Start with a comfortable base, add something warm, then have a weatherproof layer ready to go. As the day warms up, layers can come off. If the wind picks up or the clouds roll in, they can go back on.
This advice is adapted from the Department of Conservation and NZ Mountain Safety Council’s guide to dressing for the outdoors.
So pack the layers, embrace the mud and get outside! 💚
