On a day that Zazu, Lily and the team are staying cosy by the fire for as much of it as possible, we can sit and reflect!

As the fundraiser comes to a close we can now announce that Tutuki Harnessing Potential Charitable Trust received over $16,000 in donations from the most amazing, generous people from across the country that believe in our kaupapa.

While the fundraiser didn’t get across the line, these kind donations will go towards our next vision in education and every person who donated are now a part of it, although we need to take a step to the side to step forward again, as a result of the exposure from the campaign, we have had some exciting meetings which what may look a little different to our first concept, we will not give up to opening Manaaki Education Academy in the future!

We tried to contact every person who donated individually to thank them for their donation, if we somehow missed you out, please know we are truly grateful.

Free to a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ home!

Our Superfund (aka Stewie)

Time for our special Stewie to retire from racing and live a new low key lifestyle with his new human!

8 year old bay gelding.

Came to us under saddle for lessons, we purchased him, restarted him as a racehorse where he went on to win 3 races and multiple placings.

It is now time for him to return back to saddle. Kind nature, easy to do anything with. Has had experience with his previous owners hacking.

The perfect home is more important than $$$. New home would require a companion.

First picture is of him currently as he is one week out of full work from racing.

During the arduous winter months of feeding our equine team, it’s easy to forget there are moments that bring some warmth to the mud-trudging and stormy weather! ☔️🐴

We just love it when our dear Izzy comes to lend a hand! She has been with us for over 2 years now!

Never a dull moment, as you can see, truly a hard worker who loves a bit of banter in between! 😂

We appreciate you Izzy Speight and everything you bring to the team. Thank you! 🥰

Recently one of our dearest Reigning Downs icons left the nest to spread his wings. . . our beloved Steven! 🫶🏼💕

Arriving 3 years and 7 months ago, Steven has been a favourite to many who visit however, the time has come he has the freedom and space a goat deserves to be a goat with him unfortunately becoming dangerous during his times of free play and we must put our visitors and the team’s safety paramount despite the love I have for my bestie, free range goat (who thought most of the time he was a pony).

Thank you to Miranda McGurk & her partner for giving Steven the best life moving forward, I just know it is the perfect place for him “Steven’s playground” 🛝 Thank you for the updates!

There were many tears shed on the way home but my heart knows it was the right thing to do! ❤️‍🩹

Today, we were lucky enough to witness a heartfelt expression of gratitude! 🥹

After mentioning in conversation at a previous visit dreaming of his own bicycle, the team got on the job and thank you to the kind donation of local Harness Racing whānau and dear friends Clark, Jackie & Ellie Barron, today this young man’s dream came true!

In collaboration with whānau while his bike remains at our centre, he will be learning about bike ownership, responsiblities and safety around this which is with the end goal to one day ride his bike to school in the future.

Today was a first ride and a clean 🧽

Thank you so much Barron whānau, we could not have done this without you! 💕🙏

Yesterday, I opened the most beautifully written envelope with the most special ticket order! 🫶🏼🥹

It is easy to forget that some people do not have internet banking, are unable to use Stripe or Poli, may not have an email address or have access to a cellphone! We can often take this for granted.

Although we were unable to accept cash and it was after closure of our raffle, Roger went to the most amazing effort from his home far away from the Deep South, to research my name, Reigning Down’s address and to send a letter with $50 enclosed in the envelope to place an order. I just love this personal touch.

It was so lovely to make contact with Roger on his landline yesterday and have a good yarn about the raffle, what we are working to achieve and my appreciation of his order.

He is following our journey on Facebook, I think I have made a friend who I will stay in touch with in the future!

This morning I couriered his money back to him with a wee something special to show our appreciation in his efforts!

WE WERE SO CLOSE AND GAVE IT A BLOODY GOOD CRACK!!!!

Firstly, our sincere apologies despite getting close, we were unable to share our amazing prize pool to three lucky ticket holders!

Times are difficult and we never expected anyone to purchase beyond their means however, to those who did purchase tickets, from the bottom of our hearts we are well and truly grateful and it does not go unnoticed!

To secure this license is no easy feet, so to be granted it, reaffirms the value in what we do!

We will not give up on our vision, this is merely another hurdle to overcome!

We are grateful to our 400+ new followers, new connections made and those that messaged in support from across the country.

On the most miserable of days weather wise, the most awesome Milestones can still be achieved!

To our new followers meet Cole (aka baby Cole, Lil baby boy) who is rising 4yrs in November and is the baby of our centre.

Cole arrived late February and I have been chipping away at his pre school and primary school education, he has been super to start being a baby in an oversized body!

Today he has graduated to his high school education and was backed for the very first time! 👨‍🎓

He was an absolute gentlemen, I am so excited to see what the future holds for this beautiful boy! 💕

Thank you to Cole’s “Aunty Kari” for coming to support from the ground!

Also a huge thank you to Rory Mcilwrick for giving Cole a good body work session in prep of backing him!
