Educare Bream Bay has recently moved to a new purpose built centre which has the needs of our tamariki at the forefront.

We enrol children from 0-6 and would love to show you around our lively centre which has a focus on nature in a whānau environment.

🎨✨ A Little Bit of Face-Painting Fun! ✨🎨
Yesterday, our tamariki were so very lucky to have their beautiful faces painted by the wonderful Whaea Shannon! 💕🌈

They had the opportunity to choose what they would like, and it was so lovely seeing their imaginations come to life through colour and creativity. From sweet and sparkly designs to fun and playful creations, everyone looked absolutely gorgeous! 🦋🦄🌸

A huge thank you to Whaea Shannon for creating such a special experience for our tamariki. We loved seeing all the smiles, excitement, and confidence as they proudly showed off their beautiful face paint! 💛💙

To start our week off we were able to get out in the community.
We walked to fresh choice and took pictures of our favorite foods!
Of course it was all the yummy treats… pizza, sausages, lollies, ice blocks and donuts! 🍕🍩🍦🍭🍬 It was lovely to see the lovely ladies at fresh choice ☺️⭐️

Tamariki recognized familiar places on the way, places whanau work at and Bream Bay college where a lot of our big siblings attend.

Lots more walks ahead as we head into the warmer weather 💛💙

🐒 Exploring Risk, Confidence & Physical Challenge
Lately, our tamariki have been showing a growing interest in taking on new challenges on the monkey bars. We’ve been observing them test their strength, balance, coordination and confidence as they navigate the equipment in different ways.

Through this type of play, tamariki are developing important skills such as risk taking, problem-solving, perseverance and body awareness, while learning to recognise their own capabilities and boundaries.

Yesterday we went for a hikoi around our community. The sun was out so we wore our potai ☀️☀️

It was lovely to be out and about in our community, we stopped into the library to say hello and one of our kaiako were able to show tamariki how to order a new recycling bin at the district council!😁

A Wonderful Day of Learning, Life Skills & Community Connections! 🌟

Today we had a very exciting excursion where the children had the opportunity to learn valuable life skills while connecting with our local community. 🛒✨

The kids absolutely loved the experience! They were excited to explore, ask questions, make choices, and take part in real-life experiences that help build their confidence, independence, and everyday skills. 😊🌿

Our excursion was also a wonderful opportunity to strengthen our community connections and help the children become familiar and comfortable within their local community. Experiences like these allow our children to learn how different places and services support us in our everyday lives, while encouraging positive social interactions and a sense of belonging.

It was fantastic to see the children so engaged, curious, and enthusiastic throughout the excursion. These meaningful experiences provide learning that goes beyond the classroom and help our children develop skills they can carry with them into the future.

Last Friday, we helped Lauren make delicious banana smoothies for our afternoon tea! 🍌🥤
This was a wonderful opportunity for our tamariki to develop important life skills through hands-on learning. They practised measuring, explored different foods and ingredients, and strengthened their fine motor skills as they helped prepare the smoothies. It was a fun, practical learning experience that everyone enjoyed! 💛

We'd like to take a moment to shine the spotlight on our amazing chef and nutritionist, Lauren. Every single day, Lauren pours her passion, care, and dedication into creating delicious, healthy, and nutritious meals for our tamariki.

From planning balanced menus to preparing meals that are full of goodness and flavour, Lauren plays such an important role in supporting the health, growth, and wellbeing of our little ones. Her commitment to providing nourishing kai helps our tamariki learn, play, and thrive each day.
Thank you, Lauren, for all the hard work, care, and love you put into everything you do. The effort you put into the kitchen never go unnoticed, and we are so grateful to have you as part of our team.

Lauren brings such a positive vibe to the team. She has beautiful, meaningful chats with the tamariki and creates a warm, welcoming environment for everyone. She's always ready to lend a helping hand whenever the team needs extra support, and her kind, friendly nature makes everyone feel included and valued.

Our tamariki are lucky to have someone who cares so deeply about their wellbeing, one delicious meal at a time. 💙🍎👩‍🍳

Yesterday afternoon we enjoyed a beautiful kani kani together, moving our tinana to keep warm, sharing plenty of laughs, and dancing alongside our wonderful friends. Moments like these fill the heart and remind us of the joy that comes from being together. 💛✨🌈
