🌟 RotoKids Week 10 Update 🌟

Here's what we have planned for another fun week at RotoKids:

🧱 Monday – LEGO Club
Get creative with LEGO building challenges and teamwork activities.

🎮 Tuesday – iPad & Minecraft Day
Children can enjoy creative building, problem-solving, and digital fun.

⭐ Wednesday – Matariki Wishing Stars Craft
We'll be making Matariki wishing stars and sharing our hopes and wishes for the year ahead.

✈️ Thursday – STEM: Paper Plane Challenge
Design, build, and test paper planes to see whose can fly the furthest and longest.

🍓 Friday – Fruit Kebabs
We'll be creating colourful fruit kebabs using a variety of fresh fruit for a healthy and delicious afternoon treat.

We look forward to another week of fun, creativity, and learning together!

Here’s what we’re getting up to at RotoKids next week (Week 9):

🧱 Monday – LEGO Club
LEGO Club is always a favourite! The tamariki will work together to build, create, problem-solve, and bring their awesome ideas to life.

🎮 Tuesday – Devices & Minecraft Day
Bring your own device if you'd like, or use our school iPads for Minecraft, games, and creative fun with friends.

🏮 Wednesday – Matariki Memory Lanterns
To celebrate Matariki, the tamariki will create their own paper memory lanterns. We'll take time to remember special people, moments, and things we're grateful for while making a beautiful keepsake to take home.

🪂 Thursday – STEM Parachute Challenge
Our young engineers will design and build parachutes, then put them to the test! We'll explore how air resistance works and see whose parachute can make the slowest and safest landing.

🍩 Friday – Baking: Donut Bites
A delicious end to the week! The tamariki will be making their own baked donut bites, learning simple baking skills while creating a tasty treat to enjoy.
We can't wait for another fun-filled week of learning, creating, and exploring together! 😊💛

Here’s what we’re getting up to at RotoKids next week:

🎮 Tuesday – Devices & Minecraft Day
Bring your own device if you'd like, or use our school iPads for Minecraft, games, and creative fun.

🎨 Wednesday – Arts & Crafts
We're making our own play dough! The tamariki have been loving sensory and squishy activities lately, so we're excited to create our own colourful play dough to squish, mould, and play with. 🌈

🔬 Thursday – STEM Science Challenge
Can paper be strong enough to hold weight? The tamariki will become engineers as they design and build paper bridges, then test their creations to see which bridge can hold the most weight. 🌉

🧁 Friday – Baking Day
We're making the viral Sprinkle Dot Cakes! The tamariki will help mix, decorate, and create these colourful treats before enjoying them together. 🌈😋

Plus all the usual outdoor play, games, free choice activities, and time with friends after school. We can't wait for another awesome week together 💛

We hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend! We can't wait to see all our tamariki back on Tuesday for another fun-filled week at RotoKids.

📱 Tuesday – Devices & iPad Day
Bring your own device if you'd like, or use our school iPads for Minecraft, games, creative activities, and digital fun with friends.

🎨 Wednesday – Arts & Crafts
We're making our own bookmarks! The tamariki will get creative designing and decorating their bookmarks before we laminate them and add a special charm to finish them off. 📚✨

🔬 Thursday – STEM Science
The tamariki will become engineers as they take on our Spaghetti Bridge Challenge! They'll design, build, and test their bridges to see which structure can hold the most weight. 🌉🏗️

🧁 Friday – Baking Day
Making delicious Brownie Bites together! The tamariki will help measure, mix, bake, and of course enjoy their yummy creations. 🍫😋

Plus all the usual outdoor play, games, free choice activities, and time with friends after school. We can't wait for another awesome week together 💛

Most activities start at 4pm and can change depending on numbers or weather etc

Making our own DIY stress balls! The tamariki have been loving sensory activities lately, so we’re excited for this super fun hands-on craft.

🔬 Thursday – STEM Science Challenge
The children will become engineers and scientists as they design and build something to protect “Mr Eggy” during his big jump from the sky 🥚🚀 Testing ideas, problem-solving, and seeing whose design survives the landing!

🧁 Friday – Baking Day
Making yummy pikelets together! The tamariki will get to help mix, cook, and enjoy their pikelets with tasty toppings 😋

Plus all the usual outdoor play, games, free choice activities, and time with friends after school. We can’t wait for another awesome week together 💛

Here’s what we’re getting up to at RotoKids next week:

🧱 Monday: LEGO Club
A favourite as always! The kids will be building, creating, and collaborating through LEGO challenges and free builds.

🎮 Tuesday: iPads / Minecraft Day
Bring your own device if you’d like, or use our available iPads. Kids can also jump into Minecraft and enjoy shared creative play and teamwork.

🎨 Wednesday: Arts & Crafts
We’re making origami claws this week! Lots of folding, creativity, and imagination as the kids bring their designs to life.

🔬 Thursday: Science Day
We’re exploring density by layering different liquids and observing how they separate. Expect lots of curiosity and “wow” moments!

🍑 Friday: Baking
We’re making a delicious peach sponge to finish the week — yum!

Plus all the usual RotoKids fun: hanging out with friends, building skills, and enjoying our whānau space 💛

Here’s what we’re getting up to at RotoKids next week:

🧱 Monday: RotoKids LEGO Club — LEGO Club was such a hit this week and we can’t wait to see the kids continue to explore, imagine, and create together each Monday.

🎮 Tuesday: iPad / device day — bring your own device if you’d like, or we have school iPads available for the kids to use.

🎨 Wednesday: Arts and crafts — we’ll be finishing off and painting our papier-mâché projects, as well as making fire sister claws using origami after learning about Ngātoroirangi and his magical sisters.

🔬 Thursday: Science day — experimenting with floating letters using whiteboard markers while learning about polymers and surface tension.

🍫 Friday: Baking — making delicious Weet-Bix slice to enjoy together.

Plus all the usual awesomeness, hanging out with friends, and enjoying our RotoKids whānau time.

Here’s what we’re getting up to at RotoKids next week:

🧱 Monday: RotoKids LEGO Club — we’re so excited to launch our very first LEGO Club! We were sad to see the Rotorua Library LEGO Club come to an end, and we’re really excited to be able to offer the same experience here at RotoKids. We can’t wait to see what our tamariki create together.

🎮 Tuesday: iPad / device day — bring your own device if you’d like, or we have school iPads available for the kids to use.

🎨 Wednesday: Arts and crafts — continuing our papier-mâché creations and getting stuck into our projects.

🔬 Thursday: Science day — we’ll be doing our rice experiment and exploring how it reacts in different conditions.

🌈 Friday: Baking — making colourful rainbow cookies to enjoy together.

We had a few swaps and changes this week, so we’re looking forward to getting into some of the activities we didn’t get to and making the most of them next week.
