🇳🇿 A recent student visa case we handled is a good reminder of why home ties matter.

The applicant had previously applied for a New Zealand Student Visa but did not provide evidence of property he owned in his home country. Immigration New Zealand was therefore not satisfied that his home ties were strong enough.

When the client came to Arch Immigration and Consultancy, we reviewed the previous application, identified the missing evidence, and prepared a stronger application with proper supporting documents.

🚨 Important Update for New Zealand Student Visa Applicants

From 1 July 2026, Immigration New Zealand has changed its requirements for police certificates.

If your Student Visa or temporary visa application requires a police certificate, you must upload the actual police certificate when you lodge your visa application.

Proof that you have applied for a police certificate is no longer enough (except for a small number of countries where certificates are sent directly to Immigration New Zealand).

What this means for applicants:
• Apply for your police certificate as early as possible.
• Do not wait until you are ready to lodge your visa application.
• Delays in obtaining your police certificate could delay your visa application.

This is another reminder that preparing a strong visa application starts well before the application is submitted. Planning ahead can save valuable time and help avoid unnecessary delays.
