🎤 Jack Te Nahu Results

Another fantastic result yesterday, with Alex, Avah and Billie proudly representing Ngākuru School. Speaking in front of a crowd takes plenty of courage, and all three did us proud!

A special congratulations to Alex, who received Highly Commended, and Billie, who won both the Senior and overall Jack Te Nahu trophies! 👏

A massive shout-out to Mrs Crockett for the work she puts into preparing our students. Room 4 has consistently achieved fantastic results at this event over the past few years.

🎉 Exciting news for 2027!

We’re thrilled to announce that Dana Thompson will be joining Ngākuru School as our new Teaching Deputy Principal and Room 4 teacher.

Dana brings a wealth of experience from across her career. She began teaching at Mamaku School, before moving to Kawaha Point School where she took on a number of leadership responsibilities. Dana then became Deputy Principal at Tokoroa Central School and is currently a Senior School Team Leader at Lynmore School.

What stood out most to the appointment panel was the way Dana connected with us straight away. She brought real warmth and positivity to the interview, with a clear passion for community. Above all, it was obvious that doing what’s best for kids sits at the heart of how Dana works.

We’ll organise an opportunity for Whaea Dana to come out and meet our school community before the end of the year.

Please join us in giving Dana a very warm welcome to Ngākuru School! 😊
