🌿✨ We’re looking for someone special to join our whānau! ✨🌿

Our little centre in Rotorua is on the lookout for an amazing unqualified teacher to cover a 12-month fixed-term maternity leave position. We’re a very small, close-knit team with great teacher-to-child ratios, and we’d love someone who brings laughter, warmth, and flexibility to our days.

What we’re after:
💛 A good sense of humour – laughter is part of our daily routine!
💛 Someone who’s flexible and happy to muck in where needed
💛 A real team player who enjoys being part of a small, supportive crew
💛 A love for tamariki and helping them learn, play and grow
💛No formal qualifications needed – just the right heart and attitude. ECE experience would be beneficial.

The details:
📆 Fixed-term for 12 months (maternity leave cover)
📚 School terms only (enjoy the holidays off!)
🏡 Small centre with a whānau vibe and awesome ratios

If this sounds like you (or someone you know), we’d love to hear from you! Please email us your CV and a little note about yourself to [email protected].

🌻We are not an accredited centre

This week at Awhi we are celebrating Road Safety Week with fun, hands on activities designed to spark curiosity and build road safety awareness in our little learners. Our tamariki have been exploring road safety through various invitations to play, including painting road sign shapes, creating small worlds for their motokā and learning about crossing roads safely.
It’s all part of our rich, responsive curriculum that supports tamariki to learn through play in meaningful ways. Come and see the magic in action for yourself! We have a few spaces open now for new whānau. Pop in anytime, we are open 8.30am to 3pm Monday to Friday.😃

AKE AKE AKE !!!!
A FOREVER LANGUAGE
Te Wiki o te Reo Māori is an annual celebration for all New Zealanders to show their support for the Māori language, an official language of this country.

The theme for Te Wiki 2024 is ‘Ake ake ake – A Forever Language’. It represents the resilience, adaptability and endurance of our language. It also reflects the commitment New Zealanders have to embracing and learning te reo Māori long into the future.

Under enduring pressure te reo Māori has shown it will adapt and survive. It grows with our people, our culture and our environment.

Join us this Māori Language Week to uplift te reo Māori now and into the future!

Kia māhorahora te reo – let’s make it seen, let’s make it heard.

Vacancy

💚💚💚💚💚💚💚

A rare opportunity has become available for a kaiako to join our small team and small centre, Awhi Educare@Owhata, Rotorua.
We are licensed for 25 tamariki, aged 2-5.
This position would suit an unqualified teacher or possibly a teacher in training.

We believe in whakawhanaungatanga and tuakana, teina relationships. Our kaupapa is learning through play and exploration with an emphasis on loose parts and following tamariki interests.

We are not an accredited employer and will only accept applicants with the current right to work in NZ.
This is a permanent full time role, 30 hours per week. We open school terms, school hours and close over the school holidays unpaid. This is a nice time to rest, reset and get ready for another term. We close for 4 weeks over the Christmas and New Year break.
Please email your CV and cover letter to
[email protected].

Nau mai hoki mai ki Awhi Educare!
Ngā tamariki are excited to be back and have enjoyed seeing their friends and getting back into their favourite mahi. Check out this amazing tile tower! There is so much thought, skill and concentration that goes into these creations. This is not simply play, it is construction, enclosing, physics, mathematics, patience, refining working theories and fun all rolled into one! At Awhi we truly understand your tamariki and work to support and nurture their interests.
Spaces available!

Here at Awhi we celebrated Matariki over the past month, as we welcomed the Māori new year. Here is an example of a tamaiti taking a waiata they learnt and showcasing that knowledge in another way, this time with our Matariki puzzle. Ka rawe kotiro mōhio!
