In Ohana, tamariki explored making lava in the sandpit. They worked together to dig the sand and create a cone shape, patiently waiting for their turns to add the baking soda, colour, and vinegar at the end. As the lava bubbled and flowed out, everyone became very excited and curious to see the reaction.

We've been busy at Kidz World!

A special moment

At Kidz World Maisey Place, our tamariki turned the sandpit into a space full of imagination and creativity. Using plastic sheets, loose parts, and a variety of materials, they created their own unique play experiences while exploring, discovering, and leading their own learning through play.

Swing, swing as high as you can

Sensory exploration has been very popular in the Pounamu Room.
As the babies explore different textures, sounds, colours, and materials, they are learning more about the world around them.

These shared experiences also support relationship building, communication, curiosity, and confidence as the tamariki explore alongside one another and their kaiako.
