// Pathway into Law //
Today we were privileged to welcome back former students Caleb Simpkins, Ngarimu Simpkins, and Senior Defence Lawyer Max Simpkins.
Coming from one whānau with connections to Awahou, Ngongotahā, Ngāti Ngararanui, Ngāti Rangiwewehi, and Tūhourangi, they shared inspiring kōrero with a group of Year 12 students about their journey into law. Their message focused on the value of hard work, sacrifice, and surrounding yourself with positive people.
Their success is a wonderful example of what can be achieved through dedication, perseverance, and strong whānau support.

- Te Maru -
Now that students and staff have settled into their beautiful new building, we wanted to share a glimpse of the learning spaces in action.
Te Maru has long been an integral part of our kura, supporting students with diverse and complex learning needs.
It has been wonderful to see students and staff making the most of the new facility - learning, connecting, and thriving in spaces specifically designed to support the success and wellbeing of our Te Maru whānau 💙💛

Showquest Waikato 2026
Showquest is a national high school competition that focus on integrating all art disciplines to tell stories. This year Heights entered a piece entitled ‘The quiet room’, which is a gentle reflection on the state of being temporarily lost. It explores the delicate, out-of-touch frequency where we move through the world asking questions we don’t yet know how to ask. The work arrives at a place of understanding… it is entirely okay to not have it all figured out, and it is equally okay to sit in a quiet room and simply exist with that unknowing.
Esperance and Attika - 3rd place 🥉
Well done to our dancers, lighting teams, and choreographers on a brilliant result.

💙💛 Working Together for Success 💛💙
Over the past few weeks, we have seen a significant improvement in students meeting our school expectations around uniform, punctuality, attendance, phone use, and va**ng.
These positive changes are helping us create a calm, focused, and respectful learning environment where every student can learn, thrive, and succeed.
Thank you to our students, whānau, and caregivers for your ongoing support. Your partnership makes a real difference.
To maintain this positive momentum, lunchtime detentions will continue for students who choose not to meet these expectations. Consistency helps us provide the best possible environment for learning.
Together, we are building a culture of Respect, Responsibility, Resilience, and Relationships.
💙💛
