Manu Samoa vs Fiji rugby match on 6/9/25. An awesome day. Honoured to perform the Samoan anthem and have my students from our Raukura Tama Pasifika group involved. Fa’afetai tele lava Rotorua NZ for the invitation 🇼🇸 🇫🇯 🎶

'Tagaloa' is a Samoan piece I wrote in 2021 for my students in the Rotorua Boys High School's Raukura Choir. Mentor and dear friend Elise Bradley then shared it with the New Zealand Childrens' Choral Academy and since then, this piece has continued to be performed by other choirs around Aotearoa and overseas - have loved connecting with all the wonderful Choral Directors and if I’m lucky enough, the singers too!

Here is a version of 'Tagaloa' performed by the University of Southern California Choir (USC Choir) with Choral Director Cristian Grases. Fa'afetai tele lava Cristian, for your love and passion in sharing our Samoan culture with your singers, my friend!

About Tagaloa:
Tagaloa explains the story of Samoan ancestors who leave Hawaiki Nui and travel long distances across rough seas in search for a new land and new beginnings. As they travel, they call out to Tagaloa and ask for his guidance and protection throughout their venture.

“Laumei, Faiaga”. A Samoan piece I arranged for Choralation Choir this year, directed by Fiona Wilson. Fa’afetai tele lava Fiona and team for this wonderful opporunity to connect with you all! ❤️ 💚

Will share more videos, showcasing some wonderful choirs and choral directors (and friends!) performing our beautiful Samoan pieces, over the next few days. Feeling very grateful to be able to arrange/compose them and be a part of everyone’s journeys in learning about our Samoan culture through song and storytelling.
