Today was a wonderful day for our tamariki as they went on a special trip to the library. They had the opportunity to meet other children in the community, engage with new faces, and confidently choose their own books to explore.
It was heartwarming to see our tamariki asking questions and sharing their thoughts with their kaiako as they flipped through the pages of the books. During our journey back to kindy, they excitedly shared stories and talked about the pictures they had discovered in their chosen books.
Our tamariki also demonstrated exceptional behaviour throughout the entire excursion. Ka pai tamariki mā! You all did a fantastic job today and truly deserve a big high five!
Thank you to our whānau for allowing your children to join us on this meaningful experience where they could connect with the wider world around them. Experiences like these support the aspirations of Te Whāriki by fostering communication, exploration, belonging, and confidence as tamariki learn through real-life experiences and meaningful social interactions.

Lest We Forget
Our tamariki are learning about the importance of ANZAC Day as they commemorate, honour, and remember our fallen soldiers. 💖
Through creating poppy flowers and soldier hats, they begin to understand what has happened in the past and why we dedicate a special day to remember and show respect.💕

This week, our tamariki explored the wonderful authors behind the children’s storybooks. They enjoyed looking at the illustrations and engaging with the stories.📚🤩
Our preschoolers created props inspired by the books, while our Under Twos explored painting, pretend play, and retelling stories in their own way.
These activities are developing early language through stories and expression while exploring creativity through art and play which are all linked to Te Whariki’s strand on Mana Reo/ Communication and Mana Aotūroa/Exploration. 🤠🤗😍
