Our outdoor deck transformed into a busy pretend play hair and makeup salon this week! Our little stylists loved stepping into roles—carefully brushing hair, using pretend straighteners, applying makeup, and checking their masterpieces in the mirror.
Imaginative play like this is fantastic for developing fine motor skills, boosting language and social confidence, and encouraging turn-taking.
From full makeovers to waiting patiently for an "appointment," the creativity was endless.

🌺 Fakafeta'i for a wonderful Tongan Language Week! 🌺
What an incredible week celebrating Tongan culture! Our tamariki were welcomed with beautiful flower garlands and got to explore taonga like woven fans, baskets, and ngatu (tapa cloth) up close.
A huge mālō 'aupito to Whāea Tapen*sa for organising such a special week — from dressing in traditional attire and sharing stories, to showing the children a coconut and grating fresh coconut for them to touch and smell. The tamariki also got hands-on making their own ngatu-inspired prints!
To top it off, we tried 'otai — a delicious Tongan smoothie made with grated apple, milk, crushed pineapple, and mango syrup. The verdict? Ifo (yummy)! 😋 Swipe through for all the highlights! 🇹🇴

Sunny skies + a big pile of sand = pure joy for our precious tamariki! Digging, burying toes, pouring "cups of tea," loading up diggers, and turning muffin trays into a mud kitchen masterpiece.

🔨✨ Carpentry - Te mahi kāmura 🌿🪵
There’s something special about learning with our hands! Our tamariki have been busy exploring our carpentry area. 🧰👷‍♀️👷‍♂️ With hammers, screwdrivers, nails, wood and plenty of imagination, the children have been creating, experimenting and problem-solving together. They are developing fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, concentration, confidence and perseverance — all while having lots of fun! 😊
We love watching the children take on challenges, help one another and proudly say, “I did it!” ❤️

There’s something so special about winter at Amazing Place Preschool! 💜
Our tamariki have been keeping warm with cosy blankets, comfy cushions, and plenty of fresh air as they enjoy our outdoor spaces. From snuggling up with friends, sharing stories, and imaginative play, to relaxing in our cosy corners, every moment is filled with warmth, laughter, and connection.
We believe children thrive when they can enjoy the outdoors in every season. With warm blankets, caring teachers, and happy hearts, winter becomes another wonderful adventure to explore, learn, and grow together.

In the Bible, Ecclesiastes 4:9 reminds us that:
“Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labour.” The children demonstrated the beauty of partnership, encouragement, and serving one another with patience and kindness. They were sharing ideas, listening to one another, and working toward a shared goal. Their laughter and encouragement created a strong sense of belonging and partnership.
