Rotorua Competitions Society - Speech and Drama
Morning all - A Call For Help !!!

We urgently need your help. Unfortunately, we have had a very poor response to our call for parent volunteers, with only two people signing up so far.

We are asking parents to give just two hours over the competition weekend to help at the front desk. The tasks are simple and no previous experience is required.

Also at present, only one committee member still has a child competing. The rest of us continue to organise and run the competition years after our own children have finished. Many committee members contribute hundreds of hours each year to make the competition possible.

Many parents assume someone else will help, but that simply isn't happening. In the last three years, we have had just one new parent join the committee. This is not sustainable. We need current parents to start helping to organise the competition.

Parents can sign up here:

Thank you for your support.

Regards,
Rachael McGarvie
Secretary

Congratulations to Sara Smith for 3rd place and Maggie Kwok for participating in the Lions Clubs International Speechmaking Regional contest held in Hamilton today. Great work and wonderful representation for John Paul College. A 5-minute speech was followed by an impromptu. Both delivered thought provoking Speeches with confidence and skill.
