Kia ora e te whānau!
My name is Alyssa, or Lyssa as I am more often known.
I am very excited to introduce myself as a new kaiako starting with Tiaki ELC. I have been teaching full-time in early childhood for the last eighteen months, and I am very excited to see what experiences and learning I can bring to your tamariki - as well as the learning and growth I myself can gain from them.
This week I have had the pleasure of getting to meet a few of our adventurous tamariki and their whānau. It has been a warm, inviting welcome, and I look forward to getting to know you all as we build strong relationships and community together.
Ngā mihi, Lyssa.

Tiaki Early Learning Centre is preparing two vibrant vegetable gardens for the upcoming season, each fostering a love for nature and healthy living. The community garden near the car park will benefit parents, teachers, and locals, while the children's garden at the backback will engage young learners hands-on in planting, caring for seasonal vegetables, herbs, and flowers. This initiative promotes environmental stewardship, teamwork, and responsibility, reflecting Tiaki's commitment to nurturing both the earth and its community.

Welcoming Faith and Kaiwhatumanawa to Tiaki Early Learning Centre!
Nau mai, haere mai to Faith and Kaiwhatumanawa, siblings from the Tiaki neighbourhood.
Their visit was initially for Faith, who is 3 years old. While their mother completed the enrolment form for Faith, both children enjoyed some outdoor playtime. These photos capture their first exploration of Tiaki. Faith headed straight to the sandpit, while Kaiwhatumanawa (17 months) picked up a ball and played on the grounds.
After seeing how much fun they had, their mother was so impressed that she decided to enrol Kaiwhatumanawa as well! Both sisters had a wonderful first day at Tiaki, and we are excited to welcome them to our whānau.

Welcome to Tiaki ELC, Taylor!
On his first day, Taylor was full of energy and excitement. The moment the children stepped outside, he eagerly grabbed his bike, as captured in the photo.
His new friends warmly welcomed him, making sure to include him in their play. It’s heartwarming to see how quickly Taylor is settling in and bonding with his peers.
Taylor is already becoming a role model for our under-2 children at Tiaki!

Dear Parents and Whānau,
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the new parents and tamariki under-2 who joined us today at Tiaki Early Learning Centre for our special Welcome Party from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. It was a fantastic opportunity for new whānau to connect with each other and engage with our dedicated teaching team.
We were delighted to have Dr Julia Anne officially welcome everyone to the Tiaki whānau and introduce Abigail Moore, our new Kaiako for our under-2 community. We are excited to have Abigail on board and confident she will bring fresh perspectives and nurturing care to our youngest learners.
Dr Julia Anne also took a moment to acknowledge and thank two of our beloved staff members who are moving on to new adventures. We are grateful to Deepika, who has her last day with us today and is returning to her profession as an accountant. We also extend our thanks to Meritxell, who will be leaving at the end of next week. Both have contributed greatly to our Tiaki community, and we wish them all the best in their future endeavours.
In addition, we are pleased to announce that we have identified a potential support teacher who will work alongside Abigail with our under-2 community. Meanwhile, Dr Julia Anne will be focusing her energy on supporting children aged 2-6 years, ensuring that all tamariki at Tiaki continue to thrive in a nurturing and stimulating environment.
We would also like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank our new parents who have been actively promoting Tiaki Early Learning Centre, particularly for the under-2 community. Your support and word-of-mouth referrals are greatly appreciated and truly make a difference in our community.
Thank you once again for being a part of our vibrant Tiaki whānau. We look forward to many more wonderful moments together!

We are pleased to welcome Abigail Moore, a new Kaiako to Tiaki Early Learning Centre, Rotorua. Here is the short bio about Abigail:
Kia ora koutou! My name is Abigail. I am a passionate early childhood educator originally from the UK, but I now call New Zealand my home. As a proud parent of two, they have been a major inspiration in my journey into education. In my leisure time, I enjoy spending time outdoors—whether traveling, biking, or simply enjoying nature. I also love listening to music and spending quality moments with my family, with cooking by a campfire being a personal favourite. I am truly captivated by Tiaki’s philosophy and natural play environment, and I am thrilled to join their team. I eagerly look forward to collaborating with whānau and the community and getting to know the children and their families. It is a genuine honour and privilege to be part of their learning journey.
