Flexi - week 6
Kia ora whānau,
What a beautiful week we have had at kindy! The sunshine gave us the perfect opportunity to head out on a hikoi through our community, where the tamariki helped deliver flyers for our kindy. It was wonderful to see their confidence, enthusiasm, and sense of belonging shining through as we explored together.
Back at kindy, our days were filled with creativity, laughter, and learning. The tamariki enjoyed construction play, paper mâché, singing, dancing, baking, and of course, plenty of fun alongside their friends and kaiako. These experiences continue to support their growing confidence, communication skills, creativity, and ability to work together as a caring learning community.
This week, the tamariki also helped Rozelle plant seeds in our māra kai. We are excited to watch and care for them over the coming weeks — keep an eye out to see what begins to pop through the soil! This is a wonderful way for tamariki to learn about kaitiakitanga, patience, and nurturing the natural world around us.
We look forward to seeing what next week brings

Do you struggle to get your child to eat their greens. Here's a great recipe given to us by Ariah's Mum Rebekah. Children at Kindy had this yesterday and were none the wiser. Enjoy!

Flexi report Week 5 Term 2
Kia ora e te whānau,
Welcome to a summary of week 5! Can you believe we are halfway through the term?! As we continue to march on with with the Music Month of May we have bopped and boogied through this week with dance parties accompanied by our in-house live music bands. Kelly has been making guitars with our tamariki and we got to customise our own instrument with ataahua colours and designs. Our pink ribbon bake sale was a great success and we thank each and everyone of you that has made a koha to this fabulous cause that is near and dear to our hearts here at ESP. We had a fire drill so that we are all sharp if we ever face the real thing and it's a great opportunity to have a kōrero about fire safety. The beautiful autumn sunshine bought in some familiar faces to playgroup and we danced the morning away. Its been hot and sunny and we have spent plenty of time outside frolicking and playing games. Have a great weekewhānau.

Kia ora whānau,
Just a friendly reminder that this Thursday we will be having a stall where we’ll be selling slices and coffee for a gold coin donation.
This fundraiser is to help bring awareness to breast cancer and support an important cause in our community. The stall will be open at both drop-off and pick-up times, so feel free to stop by then.
Your child is more than welcome to come dressed in anything pink to show support and help us raise awareness together.
Please come along, grab a slice and a coffee, and join us in supporting this special cause.

Flexi report Week 4 Term 2 2026
This week, we welcomed Sarah (Student Teacher) to ESP Kindy. Please say hello to her when you see her. She will be with us for 4 weeks. Our tamariki had fun exploring the planets, making comets, and musical instruments this week. While outside, we enjoyed the cool, fresh mornings and beautiful sunny days. Kindy breakfast club is a hit with tamariki. We had toast and Milo. On Tuesday, we wished Marie a safe and happy trip. She has gone to Japan and will hopefully catch up with Aoba and Ichika while over there.
Have a great week, enjoy the beautiful weather and we hope to see you all next week.

Kia ora whānau,
Thanks to the wonderful support from Feeding Rotorua, we are receiving loaves of bread each week and would like to trial a breakfast club for our tamariki and whānau.
Tomorrow, we will have toast and Milo available from 8:30am–9:00am. All of our kindy whānau are warmly welcome to join us.
If the trial goes well, we hope to make this a regular part of our programme in the future

Week 3 Term 2, 2026
Kia ora koutou,
What an exciting week we have had at kindy as we welcomed in Music Month of May with a bang! Marie brought along her electric drums for the tamariki to explore, and the sounds of waiata, laughter, and drumming could be heard throughout the kindy all week long. Music truly filled our spaces with joy and energy.
We experienced a real mixed bag of weather this week, from warm sunny days to rainy, wet moments. No matter the weather, the tamariki embraced each day with enthusiasm and fun. Outside, Rozelle has the large drum, which became a favourite gathering spot, where tamariki created rhythms together and listened closely to the gentle pitter-patter of the raindrops dancing on its surface.
Our learning journey around the solar system and planets has continued to spark curiosity and wonder. Marie also introduced a fun Balloon Rocket activity, where tamariki launched balloons across a string like a zip line. There were lots of excited faces as they explored movement, speed, and cause and effect through play.
This week, Kai was kindly donated and prepared into small packs for each whānau to enjoy. This may become a weekly offering, so please keep an eye on the pātaka cupboard over the coming weeks.
To finish the week, Marie and the tamariki lovingly created special cards and gifts for all the māmā at kindy. We hope everyone had a beautiful weekend celebrating the wonderful mums, māmā, and mother figures who bring so much aroha into our lives.
