Great day for John today, passing his 4th kyu. Very impressive grading!
The Rotorua Aikido Club's style of Aikido is called Tatsu Gi Kai. This means Evolution through Form.
Aikido is an art of self defence that does not aim to check violence with violence but attempts to manage it with technical skill that coincides with the laws of nature. In a larger sense it is not merely an art of self defence but its techniques and movements are interwoven with philosophy, psychology and dynamics.

An excellent class with Moon Sensei. Using ‘the impulse to breathe’ the student can fully participate in the waza with their uke. What great fun!!
