30 years celebration starting at 10.30am.
Parking 🚗🚘
If you can be dropped off and picked up later, that would be great. We do have a shuttle service being provided by the lovely Judy-Anne from Learning Adventures, and you will be able to spot her easily in their yellow and purple van. So please drop the family off and then find a park on Clayton Rd, and she will pick you up.

Trent and Marie from Odd Jobs Property Solutions will be leading a carpentry activity
We have a canvas for you to put your fingerprints on to commemorate 30 years
We are putting down a time capsule, call in to this table and fill in a postcard.

Sausage sizzle in the tui playground free
Craft stalls in the Kereru playground.
Jono Breakwell will be providing music in the Tui playground; bring your coins to support him. Cake stall on tui deck - koha
The Little Yellow Cafe for your coffee fix will be located in the carpark
Izzy's icecream truck also will be in the carpark.
Lemonade and drinks stand by the Parker family will be in the tui playground.
Photo booth by Little Party located at the entrance.
‘Through the Years’ photo display tours will be carried out throughout the morning in the building.

Thank you to all that have helped put this day together. The teachers have been working especially hard finding photos from years ago. We are all so excited for you to see the displays.

Great news we have live music booked for the 30th celebration.

As part of our 30th Anniversary Celebration, we would love to invite our Little Lights whānau to help us fill our Charity Cake Stall with delicious homemade goodies!

We’re looking for donations of cakes, slices, biscuits, muffins, cupcakes or any other yummy baking that we can sell on the day for a gold coin donation.

Every dollar raised from the cake stall will be donated to Free Rain International, an organisation that holds a very special connection to our Little Lights whānau.

As a Christian centre, missions are an important part of who we are and how we live out our faith. We believe we are called not only to love and serve those within our own community, but to look beyond ourselves and share God’s love in practical ways with people around the world. Supporting organisations like Free Rain International is one way we can put that faith into action- showing compassion, bringing hope and helping others to experience freedom and opportunity.

Who are Free Rain International?

Free Rain International is a global, faith-based organisation working to bring freedom, dignity and opportunity to people affected by human trafficking, exploitation and extreme poverty. Their work includes education, vocational training, mentoring and practical support, helping survivors develop skills and opportunities to build safe and independent futures.

We are also incredibly proud that our very own Leanne serves as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors for Free Rain International, making this cause particularly close to the heart of our Little Lights community.

So while we celebrate 30 wonderful years of Little Lights, our cake stall gives us an opportunity to celebrate by giving back and helping make a difference beyond our own community. ❤️

If you would like to contribute some baking, we would be so grateful!

Please bring your baking along ready for our celebration, by Friday September 11th.

📚🦋 We LOVE library days with Whaea TA! 🦋📚

There’s always a little extra excitement when Whaea TA from the library comes to visit us and share the wonderful He Pī Ka Rere programme!

This week’s visit was packed with stories, movement, music and plenty of giggles!

First, we listened as Whaea TA read Dear Zoo, bringing the story to life with her storyboard. Our tamariki were captivated as we waited to discover which animal the zoo would send next!

Then Whaea TA had us thoroughly entertained as she acted out The Very Hungry Caterpillar song! We watched our little caterpillar wriggle his way along before the very exciting moment when he transformed into a beautiful butterfly! There’s nothing quite like seeing a story come alive right in front of you!

And then it was our turn to make some noise! Shakers in hand, we danced, sang and shook our hearts out, filling the room with music, movement and lots of happy little faces.

We always look forward to these visits. Through stories, songs, movement and play, our tamariki are building their language, imagination, confidence and love of books - while having an absolute blast at the same time!

Ngā mihi nui, Whaea TA! We love the energy, laughter and magic you bring with you each time you visit. We can’t wait for the next one!
