Playcentre is a unique New Zealand wide organisation that has been dedicated to early childhood for over 50 years. It is a family/whanau orientated ECE centre for children from birth to 6 years. Playcentre firmly believes that family/whanau are the first and best educators of their children. Playcentre has a high adult to child ratio (a minimum of 1 adult to 5 children). This enables the provision
of more positive interactions and experiences for all children and to extend children's thinking and language. Child learn, play and express themselves with adult support. Learning opportunities happen in a safe and caring environment. Te Kawau Playcentre is a parent co-operative, staffed and managed by the parents, with the help of employed facilitators. We have lots of wonderful resources for your child to enjoy, including a spacious outdoor area with large sandpit and plenty of outdoor play opportunities. As we support many rural families we place heavy emphasis on rural life and support learning through these avenues.
