Our Story

Hi, my name is Kerry. I have been providing home based childcare since 2009 and have my National Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care - Level 3.

I continued on my study journey through the Open Polytechnic and earlier this year I completed both 4301 Early Childhood Context and 4302 Early Childhood Professional Practice to gain my National Certificate in Early Childhood Practice - Level 4.

I live with my husband Lee and our Jack Russell’s Rilee and Max. We live in our own home in a quiet cul-de-sac in Rolleston. I work for a company called Creators at Home as an Educarer providing quality home-based childcare. Home-Based Childcare for under 5's. Home Safety Approved, Police Checked, First Aid Certificate, ECE and WINZ subsidies available. Home-Based Childcare for under 5's in a safe, nurturing and educational home environment. No more than 4 under 5's at one time. http://www.creatorsathome.org.nz/ Our home provides a warm, safe, child friendly environment for your children. With a variety of toys and resources - Where they will feel comfortable while they learn, discover and explore. We have a wonderful playroom, which provides a space for the children to feel at home within the setting. This is a space that has been set up with the children in mind, our playroom gives each child the opportunity to easily access the toys and resources within the setting. We also offer a great learning environment with resources to assist each child as they grow - We have an art cupboard which is filled with everything we need for art activities, resources to assist the children in their learning journey and help get them ready for school.

Outdoors we have a large child friendly section with our own fort, swings, slide, trampoline, water table & various ride-on toys. We also enjoy getting out and about to local parks, music and movement group, story time at the library and meeting up with other educators and children - We also attend Creators at Home playgroup and/or outings. We have our own visiting teacher who visits us on a regular basis - Providing support and assistance to the children and myself. Each child has their own learning journal where stories/photos are added on a regular basis, each family can access their child’s learning through Educa and have the opportunity to add stories of their own.
