morning ❄️, but it didn’t take long for the sunshine to work its magic ☀️. We found a sweet little group of tamariki soaking up the warmth by the Iti room door, fully immersed in their books—such a calm and cosy moment 💛

Providing ample opportunities for tamariki to be inspired through exciting learning provocations is one of the highlights of our teachers' day. Our teachers' love seeing tamariki enjoy the experiences that they work hard to prepare for them. Tamariki got lots of joy from playing with these amazing set ups in our Pūrerehua room. These were great opportunities for tamariki to deepen their learning and spark their curiosity.

Parachute games are great chance for tamariki to build teamwork, communication, and coordination skills through fun and active play. Our Iti room tamariki were learning to cooperate, follow directions, and were developing their confidence while enjoying music and movement with their peers.

Our Pūrerehua tamariki have been focusing on building their self-awareness and cognitive problem-solving skills by recognising, reconstructing and matching their facial features. This activity also supported their fine motor skills and dexterity as they picked up and placed the images together. This was a wonderful way to make meaningful connections for our tamariki as they learned more about themselves and those around them. They loved discussing their own features which provided ample opportunity for language development.

Nature became the inspiration for our tamariki as they crafted their own magic wands from leaves, cardboard, and glue. Sensory learning experiences like this support imagination, problem-solving, and meaningful connections with the natural world.

This year, we're supporting The Kindness Collective's PJ Project.

Up until the 12th June, we'll be collecting brand new pyjamas - our centre is a drop-off point if you'd like to donate in person, or you can donate online if that's easier.

Every pair of pyjamas makes a real difference - helping bring comfort, kindness, and a little extra warmth to tamariki across Aotearoa who need it most 🫶

Our centre is a drop-off point if you'd like to donate pyjamas in person, or you can easily donate money online if that's easier.

Stories are a powerful way our tamariki build connections and a sense of belonging. Through sharing books, conversations, and everyday moments, children begin to see themselves reflected in the world around them and develop meaningful relationships with others.

Autumn is a wonderful time for exploration and play, connecting closely with Te Whāriki’s strand of Exploration. As leaves fall and change colour, tamariki can gather, sort, imagine and create with them, developing curiosity and creativity. Our teachers love providing rich experiences that support tamariki to explore the changing seasons.
