Your Best Friend, in Pencil 🐶✏️

There’s something extra special about drawing a subject you know and love.

For this sketch, our student chose her own dog—capturing not only the likeness, but also that familiar expression and personality she sees every day.

From head structure and facial proportions to fur direction, shading, and detailed hatching, this project brought together many of the fundamental skills we practise in our Sketching Class. The expressive eyes were especially important in bringing the portrait to life.

At SenArt, strong technique is only part of the journey. We encourage students to turn the people, animals, and moments they love into meaningful artwork.

Who says color has to be bright to stand out?

For this Color Class project, our student painted a vintage Polaroid camera using a sophisticated muted palette. By mixing harmonious grays and exploring subtle shifts in value and temperature, they learned how to create form, depth, and that timeless retro feel.

Behind the simple palette is plenty of technique — from structure and composition to color mixing, shading, and texture.

At SenArt, students learn that great color isn’t always about using more. Sometimes, the most beautiful results come from knowing exactly how much to hold back.

A Little Jar of Sunshine 🌷☀️

A simple bouquet can be a beautiful lesson in color.

In this Color Class project, our student painted a cheerful bunch of yellow tulips in a glass jar, exploring composition, color mixing, light, and depth along the way.

By observing subtle shifts in yellow, overlapping petals, and the transparency of glass, the student learned how small color changes can create form, texture, and atmosphere.

In our Color Class, students recreated Van Gogh’s iconic The Starry Night while exploring expressive brushwork, color harmony, and composition. Every swirling stroke became an opportunity to understand how artists use color and movement to tell a story.
