From birds to bicycles, our learners have been busy comparing, contrasting, and connecting ideas.

As part of our compare and contrast writing focus, we explored two of Aotearoa’s most loved native birds, the kākāpō and the tūī, before moving on to the difference between the bicycle and the car.

Each student's lesson is shaped around their individual needs, whether it’s strengthening spelling patterns, exploring how words are built through morphology, or developing confidence in writing longer, more connected sentences.

We’ve been weaving word recognition, language comprehension, and writing composition together, helping our learners grow into thoughtful, capable communicators.

There’s something special about the moment a student lights up when they recognise a word pattern or make a new connection in their writing, or when they find the winning move in an altered game of noughts and crosses. Those are the moments we love most, when learning feels exciting and confidence begins to grow.

I’m so proud of the progress my learners make each week and grateful to be part of their journey.
