Watch this, and it starts to make sense.

For so many kids and adults, the struggle was never intelligence, it was being taught with a method that was never built for how they think.

Sad news today of Ron Davis' passing from this world.

His profound discoveries and work, alongside that of his talentef wife Alice, have transformed the lives of many 1000s of neurodivergent people and their families around the world.
Blessings.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Ronald D. Davis, founder of the Davis Method and creator of the programs that have changed how the world understands dyslexia, autism, and neurodivergent learning.

Ron grew up in a world he experienced as chaotic and painful. He didn't speak until he was 17. He couldn't read until his late 30s. And when he finally found his own way through it, he spent the rest of his life building a path for others to follow.

Ron believed that what he had created was not his to keep. It belonged to every facilitator who carried it forward, and every person whose life it changed. As he put it: "It cannot be unowned. If it's unowned, it will disappear." He entrusted that work to all of us, and the worldwide Davis community will continue to carry it forward.

Thank you, Ron, for everything you gave the world; for the millions of people who now see their own minds differently because of you; for seeing ability and possibility where others saw only limitations.

We'd love our community to share a memory of Ron, a photo, or the way his work has touched your life. Comment below, or tag us in your posts. We're gathering these to celebrate everything he gave the world.

Rest well, Ron. Your gift lives on in all of us. ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿฉต๐Ÿค

R.I.P. Dolly Parton.

Literacy Advocate.

Singer and Songwriter.

Today, the world lost more than a legendary singer, songwriter, actress, and entertainer. We lost a woman who used her influence to invest in children.

Through Dolly Partonโ€™s Imagination Library, she placed hundreds of millions of books into the hands and homes of children around the world. What began as a tribute to her father, who could not read or write, became a global literacy movement.

As a literacy advocate, I honor Dolly because she understood that books open doors to imagination, language, learning, and possibility. She did not just speak about children. She invested in them.

Dolly once said, โ€œIf Iโ€™m remembered 100 years from now, I hope it will not be for looks but for books.โ€

Dolly, you will be remembered for the books.

May we honor her by continuing the work of placing books in childrenโ€™s hands and ensuring they receive the effective instruction needed to become confident readers.

Rest well, Dolly Parton. Your generosity and literacy legacy will continue to live through generations of children. ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿค

If your child struggles with reading, writing, spelling, focus, or their behaviour at home and school, you've probably already tried extra practice, a tutor, or more worksheets.

Sometimes some things help a little. Often, the same struggles keep resurfacing in a different form.

I recently worked with a teenage boy who'd already changed schools once due to disengagement, and was still struggling in his new school's English classes.

We built his program around what he already loved, drift-car racing, and his family have since shared that his results have dramatically improved, and he is happier at school.

๐ŸŒฟFull story in the comments.

Curious what a tailored approach could look like for your child?
๐Ÿ‘‰Send me a DM, I'd love to hear where you're at.

A busy classroom may feel exciting to one learner and overwhelming to another.

Bright lights.

Loud sounds.

Busy walls.

Scratchy clothing.

Strong smells.

These experiences can affect a child's ability to concentrate, regulate emotions, and learn.

When we understand a child's sensory needs, we're not making excuses.

We're making learning more accessible.

Small adjustments can make a big difference.

Every child deserves an environment where they can feel calm enough to learn.

If you're wondering whether sensory differences could be affecting your child, I'd be happy to have that conversation.

I'm honoured to have been interviewed by Anri Louwrens on the Davis UK & Ireland NeuroNavigators clubcast recently, on the topic of "Behaviour as Communication."

We explored dysregulation. self-regulation tools and co-regulation strategies to support neurodivergent learnners in the classroom and other educational spaces.

Here's a snippet of the interview:
