An action packed day at playgroup today. The welcomed rain meant we were all inside. We started off in the workshop, followed by some music, singing and dancing. Happy Tuesday everyone 🤩🛠️🎶🌦️

A huge thank you to Sol and Lissah for all the hard work they’ve put into refreshing our playgroup space. Thanks to their time and effort, our benches, picnic table and playground are looking amazing after being painted and water blasted.

We’re so grateful to have the support of past playgroup families and local businesses giving back to our community. Sol’s painting skills and the care they both put into this project have made such a difference, and we know all our families and children will enjoy the refreshed space for years to come.

And an extra mention for manoeuvring our incredibly heavy picnic table — that definitely would have used some muscle power!

Today was the perfect first day to enjoy everything, with beautiful warm sunshine, lots of families attending, and even some visitors joining us.

Thank you both — we truly appreciate everything you’ve done for our playgroup 💛

We’re excited to be starting back up for Term 2! 🎉

Playgroup will be open every Tuesday morning for the 11-week term (unless otherwise stated on this page). We can’t wait to see all our families again and hear what everyone’s been up to over the break — we hope you’ve all had a lovely one! 😊

To kick things off, we’ll be starting the term tomorrow with a fun and creative painting activity 🎨 — we’d love to see you there!

We had a wee celebration at Playgroup a couple of weeks back. This wee man turned five and is off to school next term. He is very much looking forward to catching up with his playgroup mates who went to school before him. Much to his delight, his last day coincided with a visit from the Easter Bunny and he was able to lead the little ones in an egg hunt.

This also means that at the recent AGM I stepped back from the role of President. It is great to see so many new playgroup families and the role growing. If anyone has any playgroup related questions, Sarah Martin is your new port of call.

The gazebo has been packed away, smoko boxes cleaned and urns returned to their homes. That’s a wrap on another Ruahine-Rangiwahia Dog Trials.

Firstly, thanks to the Ruahine-Rangiwahia Collie Club for the opportunity once again to feed the team and run the food stall as our key fundraiser.

Thanks to all of the competitors for supporting the trials and bringing a bit of cash for lunch and smoko. There were lots of familiar faces from previous years but also some new ones due to centre champs.

Thanks to all the playgroup families for their contributions to baking, sandwiches, and time. Thanks also to past playgroup families for contributing to the spread.

There are a few businesses which make generous contributions to our supplies, so please support them if you are able to.

The big kids are back at school so the little ones can officially get back to playgroup. We are running today from 9am to midday. All welcome!

Also, the pie fundraiser is back. See the order form in comments and flick us a message with what you would like.

The countdown is on to the Rangiwahia Christmas party. Those with school aged children are welcome to drop items in to playgroup next Tuesday 9-12, or visit a playgroup mum if you are busy then.

We are all feeling the pressure to get jobs done by Christmas so we can take one thing off your list. We have opted to take a break from the Christmas mailbox competition this year.
If you are a particularly festive family then don’t let us hold you back. A few jingle bells and a bit of tinsel along the road work wonders for spread the Christmas cheer.
