A nationwide litter pick to clean streets, parks, and waterways, while reducing plastic pollution. It’s a hands-on way for tamariki and communities to learn about caring for the environment and make a real difference locally.
When: Wednesday, 4th February | 5:30 – 7:30pm
Where: Waimakariri River Mouth Carpark, Kairaki Beach access

This broken cup is set into a concrete wall . Didn't plant the moss but it seems very happy there

View with coffee this morning before the bad weather arrives .
This is self seeded cosmos which is now 2 metres tall.
Next summer will confine to back of border.
The birds are happy eating the seeds and I expect the neighborhood to be covered with cosmos next summer

Odd summer in Canterbury . Lots of rain and the ground temperature didn't really heat up .
Tomatoes, corn struggled
Potatoes became enormous.

No room for big fruit trees? Think sideways and esplair them . This is first year for both apple and pear
