Hello everyone. Due to some unlucky weather like last time, the Cirrus will not be coming tomorrow to AFT (Rangiora). We are hoping for some good weather potentially at the end of August and the Cirrus may be able to come then 🤞

The last two days have been big ones here at AFT.

Yesterday, Chris Johnson successfully completed the flight test to add additional privileges of C & B Category Instructor Renewals and Terrain Awareness & Mountain Flying Removal to his GA Flight Examiner Rating.

Today, Andrew Vialoux successfully completed the flight test to add the additional privilege of C & B Category Instructor Renewals to his GA Flight Examiner Rating.

Thanks to Carlton Campbell from the Civil Aviation Authority of NZ for his time over the past two days, invaluable advice was passed on during the tests.

Hey guys! Hopefully second time lucky, Advanced Flight Training is hosting “Discover Cirrus” again next month on Monday the 11th of August from 12pm- 2pm. Praying for the weather to play ball. There will also be a BBQ at the same time so be there or be square, see you all there!

We have exciting news to share! Britta has just recently completed her C-Category Instructor Rating with us 🎉

Huge congratulations to Britta on such a personal achievement. Britta will be joining the team at Advanced Flight Training and brings a varied background in General Aviation experience to the role.

A cracker start to 2025 with our primary aircraft ZK-EBK having its final avionics update which included a Garmin GFC500 Autopilot.

This autopilot compliments the already impressive avionics suite which includes Garmin G5, GTN650, GNC255, GTX355 and Aera 760 units with features such as ADS-B In & Out, NZ Charts & Plates Displayed, Safetaxi & TAWS. This future proofs our IFR training for eventual SBAS (SouthPAN) implementation in NZ.

Harry was a very early customer of ours and it has been a pleasure to see him achieve his licence.

We are proud to announce we have just passed certification testing for our new simulator from the Civil Aviation Authority of NZ!

The simulator is a replica of our Piper Archer ZK-EBK and will be able to be utilised for PPL, CPL and Instrument Rating training.
