Congratulations to our very fabulous student Gabriel Austin, who is currently winging his way back from Europe. Gabriel auditioned and won a place with just a handful of piano students in a week long masterclass in Austria lead by renowned pianist Professor Elisabeth Eschwé. We hear he had a blast! Of course, could you not?! Studying and performing in Austria…and check out the practise piano!! 💃🎹

So happy for you and proud of you Gabriel! 🤩

Those of you attending the coming Rangiora Town Hall centennial concerts on 4th September will have the joy of hearing Gabriel play. ✊🥳

POV: That very special moment when you can really enjoy playing with a student 😍 This young lady has developed into a wonderful young musician - all the skills, accuracy, a wonderful musical sensitivity and stunning musicianship. All the accolades. I feel grateful to share the stage with this young musician and feel blessed to have been part of her journey. ❤️

This lovely, clearly advanced, student is playing our arrangement of Jack Johnson's bossa nova Belle. Unfortunately, you can't see her hands but she is playing HARD chords - and doing so beautifully - accurately with an even rhythm, quality sound. Such skill and control. This doesn't happen by mistake, folks! 👊🤩 Beautifully played, Sweet Pea - you know who you are😉🫶 💞

Chookas North Canterbury Musicals for the final performances of Les Mis. A BIG congratulations to the whole team on a sell-out season and what is by all accounts a wonderful production. Thank you too to all who supported it.
We're GUTTED to have missed it - it's a show SUPER close to our hearts with Jonathan performing in it over 600 times over the two year Australian tour. It was in fact getting the role in Les Mis that enticed us move to Australia for British theatre producer Cameron MacKintosh's 10th anniversary tour as fresh baby newly-weds. Wish we could find the photos of Jonny in his Enjolras costume - our generation weren't good at recording memories - although to be fair, social media didn't exist then!🫣
