It’s time to get your groove on at the RAS School Hall! We’re hosting a disco filled with funky beats from "Disco Dave" and plenty of fun. Theme is C x 3! Come dressed to impress—Crazy, Cool, and Colourful! 🌈✨

📢 IMPORTANT NOTICE: KURA TEINA WHĀNAU 📢

Kia ora whānau

We have recently seen a significant increase in Ooshies and Pokémon cards being brought to school, which is causing distractions and issues in our Teina area.

We strongly advise that students do not bring toys, Ooshies, or trading cards to school.

To help keep our tamariki focused on their learning and prevent items from getting lost, swapped unfairly, or damaged, any toys or cards seen in the Teina area will be confiscated.

Confiscated items will be kept safe and will need to be collected directly by a parent or caregiver.

Thank you so much for your support and co-operation in keeping these items at home!

📢 Tuck Shop Closed This Week 🥪🚫

Please note that our school tuck shop will be closed all of this week (Monday to Friday) due to backup staff illness. 🤒

There will be no food available for purchase on-site. 🚫 Please ensure your tamariki come to school each day with plenty of morning tea and lunch. 🍎🥪

Thank you to Feed the Kids who will be running as usual on Tuesday with free honey toast at morning tea and $1 toasties at lunch time. 🍞🍯🧀

There is a also a fundraising bake sale on Friday at morning tea, gold coin donation. 🧁🪙

We appreciate your understanding and support, and we look forward to the tuck shop reopening next week. ❤️✨

I am writing to inform you of a change to our school calendar. Our final Teacher Only Day of the year has been rescheduled and will now take place on Friday, 4th September. On this day, the school will be closed for students.

We acknowledge that changing a scheduled date during the school year can cause inconvenience around childcare and family arrangements. Please accept our sincere apologies for any disruption this shift may cause. We do not make adjustments to the school calendar lightly.

- Why the Change?
This shift is due to time-sensitive Professional Learning and Development (PLD) opportunities that our teaching staff need to undertake, rather than postponing until next term:

- Kura Teina: Staff will focus on crucial updates and targeted development in Mathematics, ensuring our younger learners continue to build strong foundational skills.

- Kura Tuakana: Staff will undertake specialised training on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education, exploring both the opportunities and ethical frameworks needed to support our older students in this space.

Investing this dedicated time now allows our teachers to bring these key developments straight back into the classroom for the remainder of the year.

Thank you for your ongoing support, flexibility, and understanding as we work to provide the best possible learning environment for our students.
