Arrowtown Preschool

For the second year running, we will be celebrating Matariki at Arrowtown School on Wednesday 1st of July. It will be a wonderful evening for our community to come together and engage in activities celebrating Māori arts and knowledge!

WOW! 30 years of making memories, anyone recognise themselves?😍

It takes a certain calibre of kaiako to turn an idea into a giant size Tane Mahuta accompanied by a forest full of tamariki! Luckily we have lots of those kaiako plus a wonderful community that supports our creativity! 🥰

We are fundraising to upgrade the facilities at Durham St preschool, including adding a project room to extend all of our amazing creativity that happens! Raffle tickets are $10 each - lots of fantastic prizes!! To purchase tickets please email [email protected] and we will send you a bank account to deposit money into! This was special to see proudly displayed at Wakatipu Kindergarten following our visit and pōwhiri last year. An amazing experience for our tamariki facilitated by passionate and dedicated kaiako.

Thank you very much to Suncraft NZ for their generous donation of a new shade system! Just in time for some late summer sun!! We are very grateful to our whānau and community for helping to provide and maintain safe, engaging learning spaces for our tamariki.

At our December meeting our Preschool Board discussed the recent changes to the law regarding Te Tiriti o Waitangi. While the legal requirement has changed, our commitment has not. Guided by our philosophy and Te Whāriki, we will continue to honour Te Tiriti, ensuring that tamariki are seen, valued and supported in their identity, language and culture. We will work in partnership with whānau and our community to provide learning experiences that reflect te ao Māori, the natural world, and each child's unique potential 🫶🏼

We are on the lookout for a local person(s) who would be available to clean our preschools - Cotter Ave, Durham St approximately 3.5hrs daily anytime after 4pm. $35 per hour. For more information please email [email protected]
