Wakatipu High School Branches Camp is supported by the Branches Charitable Trust. Like this page for event and information updates.
The Wakatipu High School , annual year 10 branches camp , which goes for 12days, has been running for 46 years . The camp has become a ' Rite of passage' for students and pushes many out of their comfort zone . The students participate in rafting, abseiling, hiking, target shooting, and kayaking to name a few activities and this is one of the only camps of its kind still in existence in New Zealan

Branches 2025 'The Final Wash'
A week back in the Basin with some time to reflect on the Camp! There was an awesome assembly of Year 10 students earlier in the week, which was representative of the learning and the good times.
It's time to give thanks to the individuals, businesses, and organisations that have made Branches 2025 possible:
Queenstown Police
RealNZ - Queenstown Rafting
Trevor Jones Contracting
Nomad Safaris
Andrew Colby
NZSki
Heliworks
And special thanks to Branches Station.
Finally a quote from the Branches book 'Longdrops and Hard Knocks'
"One of the good things about Branches is time sort of stops in there. If you've got to stay longer or leave earlier, that's it! If you can't get to Lochnagar because of the weather or river, there's no changing that. In this increasingly demanding world, that's the life lesson of Branches."
Ka kite and Merry Xmas

It was great to be able to attend year 10 prizegiving this week and see the amazing hard work from the students acknowledged. We have a wealth of talent at WHS.
It was also a pleasure to see two special awards given out to recipients for Branches Camp.
Jack Barlow = Jane Davenport award for leadership and compassion on Branches Camp
Phineas Thomas = Tony Middendorf award for humility, team and work ethic on Branches Camp
