2 more weeks until school holidays 👏

It was awesome to see so many community members at last week's assembly.

In case you missed it as well as our usual devotion, prayer, worship, certificates and values awards we baptised Isaac and honoured Miss Asami for more than 5 years service and congratulated her on her relieving teacher qualification.

Yesterday, Wai class visited Wakatipu Reforestation Trust as a part of our inquiry.

It was such a rich hands-on experience and our tamariki learnt a lot about our native trees.

A huge thank you to all of our wonderful parent helpers and Whakatipu Reforestation Trust! We couldn’t make it without your support!

We are looking forward to observing our Kowhai trees’ growth!

This term our whole school inquiry topic has been Integrity In Growth with a focus on the science curriculum. There has been lots of hands on learning with water, trees, bees, space and wearable arts.

On Wednesday 3rd June Manu Class enjoyed a visit to the Buzz Stop Cafe as part of their inquiry unit on Honey Bees. They learnt how to make soap using bees wax, honey honey is extracted from hives and lots of new information about bees. They each took home jars of delicious honey with our class photo on it! Thank you Nick from Buzz Stop for hosting our visit to your awesome cafe. We had a great time and all learnt so much!

Next up Wai Class have their trip to the Wakatipu Reforestation Trust.

Huge thank you to Downer NZ Queenstown for visiting our school yesterday!!!! 🙏

They taught our tamariki about drinking water, waste water and fresh water, and how they treat it.

Our children also did some fun water density experiments by using some salt, oil, dishwashing liquid, food coloring and eggs.

Our students had a great experience ‼️👏

This Friday we create space for community worship knowing it can look like lots of different things like lying down, sitting, standing, thinking, praying, singing, doing art... anything that helps still our minds and focus on Jesus.

We talk of the concept of 'soaking' and how it is good for our minds and hearts to also soak in a place of worship to feed our spirits.

We welcome everyone to this community event.
