🌟 What a wonderful day we had at Stardome last Friday! 🌎☀️🌙 A huge thank you to our wonderful families for your support, whether you joined us on the day or trusted us to take your children on this special adventure. The children loved exploring the interactive displays, learning about the Sun, Earth and Moon, enjoying the dome movie and, of course, riding the bus! 🚌✨ We were so proud of how beautifully they behaved throughout the day. It was a fantastic experience filled with learning, discovery, fun and lots of special memories! 💕🌟

We had a very special visit from Harold the Giraffe, who helped us learn about our emotions, calming our bodies, and being good friends.

We learnt that God gave us emotions and they are good, but we also need to learn how to manage our feelings without hurting others or breaking things. We explored the clues our bodies give us when we are becoming upset and practised calming strategies using our five senses, breathing exercises, music, movement and sensory activities.

We enjoyed the Banana Salute, played games, completed puzzles and learnt how we can care for and encourage our friends. We were reminded that God made each of us special and unique, and explored Proverbs 17:17: “A friend loves at all times.”

We also connected our learning to God creating the stars on the fourth day, using the beautiful sky as a reminder to stop, breathe and calm our bodies. ⭐

And what a wonderful surprise it was to discover that Mrs Wilson had secretly dressed up as Harold! 🦒

A huge thank you to Mrs Van Dam, Harold and Mrs Wilson for helping make this such a fun and meaningful learning experience! 💛

This term, we have been exploring the beautiful teachings of Jesus through parables 💛

So far, we have been learning about The Story of the Sower and The Story of the Lost Coin. Alongside these, the children have been growing in their understanding of our memory verses:
✨ “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” – Psalm 119:105
✨ “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” – Luke 19:10

Every two weeks, we introduce a new parable, and it has been so special to see the children engaging in Bible readings, thoughtful discussions, and sharing their own ideas about what these stories mean 💭

A highlight has been our daily “search” for the lost coin and sheep around the classroom, bringing the parables to life as the children experience the joy of seeking and rejoicing when they are found, just like the angels in heaven ✨

Through art, crafts, and table-top provocations, we continue to extend their learning in meaningful and hands-on ways.

We are so excited to keep adding a new memory verse each fortnight as we continue growing in faith and learning together 🌱💛

We are now welcoming enrolments for children aged 2–5 years for Terms 3 & 4, with limited spaces available and a waitlist open

At St James Kidsway Preschool, we offer a nurturing, faith-based environment where children are encouraged to grow, explore, and belong 💛

A huge thank you to the Simpson family from SB Civil for their hard work with the earthworks, including digging out the new pathway and helping create a safer, more level space for our tamariki to enjoy 🌱

While everyone has been enjoying the school holidays, we’ve been giving St James Kidsway Preschool a fresh new look 👀

AND… 🚲
We’ve extended our pathway all the way to the bike track and shed. Ready for lots more riding, exploring, and fun!

🌳 We’ve also levelled out the ground under our big tree, filling it with soil to make it safer and more usable for play after removing the old concrete path.

We can’t wait to see the children’s faces when they come back and spot all the changes… we think they’re going to LOVE it 😍

💙🩷 Jammies for June 🩷💙
Keeping Children Warm This Winter

Our annual Jammies for June Pyjama Day was a wonderful way to celebrate the end of our pyjama collection for the Middlemore Foundation.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our St James Kidsway families, Mrs Harris delivered 21 pairs of brand-new pyjamas to Unichem Pukekohe Pharmacy (16 West Street, Pukekohe), where they will be passed on to the Middlemore Foundation to help keep local children warm this winter.

Every pair donated is a gift of warmth, comfort, and kindness. We are so grateful to everyone who contributed and helped make a difference in the lives of children in our community.
