Tamariki have enjoyed a fun-filled week of learning, exploration and play. There have been lots of opportunities to be creative, investigate, problem-solve and learn alongside friends.

What a busy week of learning at OTR! 🌈

This week our tamariki have been busy exploring and learning together. We have had lots of conversations and learning experiences around planting, life cycles, seasons / weather and days of the week. Providing opportunities to develop early mathematics knowledge and concepts such as counting, sequencing, patterns and an understanding of time.

Through these everyday learning experiences, tamariki are building their confidence, extending their language and making connections with the world around them.

🥶 Brrrr… it was a chilly week this week at OTR!

The cold weather certainly didn’t stop our tamariki from having another fun-filled week of exploration, learning and play. 🌈

From getting creative and exploring through hands-on experiences, to enjoying time with friends and discovering new things, there have been plenty of opportunities for curiosity, laughter and learning along the way.

We love seeing our tamariki confidently explore their environment, follow their interests and learn alongside one another. 💕

Meet Our Owner/Manager – Melissa! 💕

💖 What is your favourite thing about teaching?
I have been teaching for 17 years across both the ECE and Primary sectors. I enjoy building strong relationships with tamariki, whānau, and my team. I love watching tamariki grow, learn, and develop into confident, capable individuals. I have always dreamed of owning a small, family-orientated centre, so I am very grateful to have the opportunity to be the new owner of OTR.

PINK!!! 💗

🎀 What is your favourite activity to do with tamariki?
I love having fun! Whether it’s dancing, exploring outdoors, or sharing lots of laughs, I enjoy making every day exciting and enjoyable for our tamariki. I am also passionate about supporting tamariki with their transition to school and ensuring they are set up for success as they continue their learning journey beyond OTR.

💞 What is your favourite thing about OTR?
The people and the family feel of the centre. We have such a warm, welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and supported. I also love our spacious, natural outdoor environment and all the opportunities it provides for tamariki to explore and learn.

🌷 What is something fun people may not know about you?
I enjoy taking my old HQ Kingswood out for a cruise in my spare time! 🚗💖

Another fun-filled week of learning at Over the Rainbow! ✨️

The cold weather certainly didn't stop our fun, curiosity, and exploration this week. Our tamariki embraced every opportunity to learn, discover new experiences, and enjoy time together both indoors and out.

Following on from our Matariki learning, our tamariki have become increasingly interested in space. This has prompted many meaningful conversations and exciting learning opportunities as we continue to explore and develop our knowledge of space and our solar system together 🚀.

We were also so excited to welcome two new friends to the OTR whānau this week. They have settled in with ease, and it has been wonderful to see them already building friendships and becoming part of our learning community. We look forward to watching them continue to grow and thrive with us.
