🎓 When do children start preparing for school readiness?

School readiness starts from infancy!

It begins with exploring hand movements and developing gripping skills. Over time this continues to refine and become a pencil grip, what is used for drawing and writing. ✍️
Learning starts from the youngest of ages and develops and refines with support and guidance as children grow.

Our tamariki and kaiako have spent the last month creating beautiful representation of what each star means.

💫Star gazers and our kourwai for Matariki.

To finish our celebrations of Matariki, we came together shared kai and had a fun disco with our families.

Do you wanna build a snowman?

Today our Tamariki enjoyed a snow day! Experiencing the textures and using their sensors to explore the snow. This was a new experience for a lot of our children at The Village and it was amazing to be able to share it with them.

Did you know that we are a collection drop off point for the Jammies in June foundation?
Today we come together as a village of supporters for those in need this winter. We have had so many beautiful donations already but there is still time to donate. Our children are really getting the hang of our monthly Kids' Beats sessions!
It is so amazing to watch their confidence continue to grow as they learn about music notes, sounds and rhythm through the joy of the songs they enjoy.
So awesome how the children are taught about notes, using terms they understand. Can't wait for next month's lesson.
