As part of our 'what do you want be when you grow up' theme, we had a visit from some monster machinery this morning. The Holmes & Chittick crew came to visit and bought their big boy toys with them much to the delight of many of our students! A great display of the machinery they use around our area everyday. Thanks so much for sharing with us!

Kia ora Pukeatua Community

After a great deal of thought, I have formally submitted my resignation as Principal of Pukeatua School.

My final day of employment will be Sunday 11th October 2026, with Friday 25th September being my final day at school before the Term 3 holidays.

This has not been an easy decision. Pukeatua School has been a significant part of my life, and I am incredibly grateful to have had the privilege of being Principal of such a special school and
working alongside our wonderful students, staff and Board over the years.

I spoke with our staff Tuesday morning and our students Tuesday afternoon because it was important to me
that they heard this directly from me before it was shared with the wider community.
I am extremely proud of what we have achieved together. Our school has grown considerably, both in roll and reputation, while retaining the close relationships, rural character and strong sense
of community that make Pukeatua School special.

I am particularly grateful to our staff, who work incredibly hard for our students, and to our current Board, parents, families and wider community for the trust and support they have shown both the school and me during my time as Principal.

The Board will now begin planning for interim leadership and the appointment of Pukeatua School’s next permanent principal.

Further information will be shared as that process progresses.

Until the end of Term 3, I remain fully committed to leading the school, completing our current priorities and ensuring a strong and orderly transition.

Our next fundraiser is up and running. We have chosen something different this round but we're pretty sure it will be familiar to most of you! As its still chilly we've decided on Asian Dumplings and Steamed Buns as a nice warming addition to the previous Pie fundraiser. If you don't feel like a pie you can choose dumplings for dinner instead - how easy is that!

Once again this fundraiser is to go towards painting the school pool! Its a big job!

We started our new term with a new addition today - our long awaited school mural is finished and up. A huge thanks to the BOT for granting permission to have this done, thanks to Hamish Davison Builders for building the framework and installing and last but definitely not least a huge special thanks to Lyn Gilbert-Radford for dedicating many many hours to create this masterpiece. It looks fantastic and has certainly created a buzz around our school!
