🌮 Thursdays are for Toasted Tuna Quesadillas! 🐟🧀
This delicious kai went down a treat with all our tamariki! 💛 A tasty, nourishing lunch that was a big hit, and just one of the many nutritious options we have on our menu at the moment.

This week, we were very lucky to have a special visit from a tiny, six-week-old furry friend, Porcini the bunny! 🐰
The tamariki were so excited to meet Porcini and showed such wonderful gentleness and care as they took turns giving him soft pats. They were fascinated by his beautiful, fluffy fur and enjoyed noticing how small and delicate he was. It was lovely to see the tamariki using gentle hands, quiet voices and patience while spending time with our little visitor.

Porcini was incredibly calm and tolerant as the tamariki gathered around to say hello. His visit provided a wonderful opportunity for the tamariki to develop their empathy, compassion and sense of responsibility towards animals, while also learning about how to interact safely and respectfully with living creatures.

A very special thank you to Alina and Micah for sharing your new bunny with us, and to Olivia for bringing Porcini along for such a memorable visit. We loved having our little furry friend come and spend some time with us! 💕🐰

🐧💦 Water Safety with Kori! 💦🐧
Last week we were very excited to welcome a special visitor — Kori the Penguin from the Richmond Aquatic Centre! 🐧💙 Kori came along to help us learn some very important water safety skills.
We learnt how to put on a life jacket and talked about how wearing one helps keep us safe when we’re out on a boat. 🛟 We also learnt how important it is to stay close to a trusted adult whenever we are in or around water.
We had lots of fun reading a water safety story and singing a fun song with Kori too! 📖🎶

Daffodil day was a huge success at Greenwood Kindergarten with delicious yellow shades of Kai, creative daffodil artwork and building a coin trail with the gold coins. We love that we can get behind this great cause and help support Cancer Society NZ.

Mālō e lelei! Last week was Uike Kātoanga’i ‘o e Lea Faka-Tonga (Tongan Language Week). Throughout the week, we enjoyed learning about traditional clothing worn for different occasions, greetings and useful phrases, as well as colours and numbers in Lea Faka-Tonga.
A huge mālō ‘aupito to Inaya, Maika and Mum Winnie for supporting our learning and sharing their Tongan culture with us. We were also very lucky to enjoy some amazing me’akai (food), including delicious ‘otai (tropical fruit drink) and pai fainā (pineapple pie) for dessert!

It was a wonderful week of learning, sharing and celebrating Tongan language and culture. Mālō ‘aupito! 🇹🇴❤️
