What a fabulous Duffy Role Models Assembly we had this morning!
Our role models Torisse and Evander shared their love of reading with the tamariki and how reading got them both started in their learning journeys. Torisse is a movie maker and has worked with Jason Mamoa and Evander is a singer and songwriter and has written around 200 songs!!
The tamariki enjoyed Evander singing the Toy Story song “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” to them and learning how to do a Pacifica warm up with their hands.
The tamariki enjoyed receiving their new Duffy Books from our role models today!
We love reading at MSS!📖

Winner winner, chicken dinner! I entered a competition to win us some cool new umbrellas for our playground and road crossing duties on those less sunny Motueka days! Thanks to Steve from Summit for dropping them in today.

At Summit we always like to over deliver, so I dropped off two umbrellas!! After all, nobody likes to do a rainy playground duty on their own!? 😉

Congratulations to all of our speech finalists who presented their speeches to their learning team today.

A special congratulations to the following place getters:
3rd - Monroe Haskell
2nd - Ezra Close
1st - Archer Vann

These three will present their speeches at assembly in week 9.

A big thank you to Fraser and Sarah for judging our speeches this year. You had a tough job!
