On Thursday last week, Anna, Renee and Kori visited us from the Richmond Aquatic Centre. They had some very important information to share with our tamariki to keep them safe around water.

*swim between the red and yellow flags

*don't go into water that is deep and goes over your mahunga/head

*make sure there is an adult supervising

*an adult needs to be within arms length from swimmers

and if you get into trouble ... Raise Your Hand for HELP!

Our tamariki also learnt about lifejackets; when to wear them, and who should wear them.

This was a fun visit, and will help prepare our tamariki for a safe summer … which is not too far away!

In relation to our new topic -‘Fueling our Bodies’, yesterday we had two wonderful nurses from Te Whatu Ora come and cook up a wee storm as they made some cheap, simple food samples for us to try that we can include in our lunchboxes. They also showed us how much sugar was in some of our packet foods. Ngā mihi Pam & Vicky it was delicious learning
