Follow our page to keep up-to-date with events organised by the Papakōwhai Home & School Committee. The motto of the H & S is "Do what you can, when you can".

The H & S is a group of parents (separate from the Board of Trustees) who work with the school to provide community building activities. These activities do raise some funds which provide extras that are beyond the school budget eg, playground equipment. Regular events include sausage sizzles, children's discos at school, family bbq evenings and fundraising activities. The Home and School Commit

tee meets regularly, and the time and place is advertisied in the school newsletter. They are happy to have support as and when people are able to help. Fresh ideas and new members are always welcome.

Papakōwhai whānau… we need some new legends.

Our long‑serving Chairperson and Treasurer are stepping down, so it’s time for some fresh faces on the Home & School Committee.

If you’ve ever enjoyed a triathlon, disco, BBQ, quiz night, calendar art or any of the “added extras” our kids love… that’s us. And we need help to keep it all going.

It’s not a big commitment.
A meeting once a month. A couple of hours here and there. Bring a friend. Have a laugh. Be part of the fun stuff.

If the committee isn’t your thing, we’re also building teams for:
• End‑of‑Year BBQ
• Triathlon (Term 1 next year)

Please get involved - it’s genuinely fun and makes a real difference for our kids and the school community.

IT’S ON TONIGHT!

A few important reminders to help the night run smoothly (and keep everyone safe and sane).

🚧 Parking - please don’t be that person
Our biggest plea before every event is no parking in the school carpark, on yellow lines, or across driveways.

Not even “just for a minute”. Not even with your hazards on.

We need to be good neighbours and keep the area safe for excited tamariki. The Council parking officers may be around, and they are not known for their sense of humor. Please park legally and walk the extra 30 seconds.

🚥 Drop off & pick up
Tamariki must be collected from inside the hall at the end of their disco. We won’t release kids without an adult.

Only Rātā parents and rostered volunteers can come into the hall during the event.

Please be on time for pick‑ups so we can keep the sessions running smoothly.

🎟️ Door sales
If your child wants extra drinks, snacks, or souvenirs, merch tickets will be available at the door. Cash and EFTPOS available.

(Just a reminder: donuts and pizza were pre‑order only, so no door sales for those.)

Rātā & Mataī: 4.30 – 5.30pm
Rimu & Tōtara: 5.45 – 7.15pm
Kauri: 7.30 – 9pm

ONLINE ORDERS CLOSE TOMORROW (Tuesday 16 June)

**All food (pizza & doughnuts) must be pre-ordered via myKindo**

Only entry tickets and tokens (for snacks and souvenirs only) will be available at the door.

When: Friday 19 June

Times: Rātā and Mataī 4:30-5:30pm | Rimu and Tōtara 5:45-7:15pm | Kauri 7:30-9pm

Tickets: Entry $5 | Tokens $2.50 each: 1 token = 1 item/activity (snacks/drinks/activities/souvenirs)

Food: Pizza and Doughnuts (pre-order only)

Theme: All that Glitters is Gold - in celebration of our jubilee year !

This fundraising event is organised by the volunteers on the Papakōwhai Home and School Committee for the benefit of Papakōwhai School. All proceeds are used to fund equipment and items for the children.

Volunteer help is needed to ensure this event can run - please register to help when purchasing tickets online.

Due to space restraints we ask that only one adult per family attends the Rātā & Mataī disco, and its kids only at the other discos. Best idea if you want to come along, is to volunteer to help and keep an eye out, but avoid cramping your kids' style!

Purchase your tickets, tokens and food (& register to help) via Kindo BEFORE Tuesday 16 June. Tickets will be sent home with your kids before the disco via their classrooms, so please ensure you update your child’s class when purchasing your tickets.

It is possible to buy a ticket on the door but all pizza and doughnuts have to be pre-ordered by Tuesday 16th via My Kindo.

Save the Date - Disco!

Mark your calendars - the Papakōwhai School Disco is happening on Friday 19 June.

Our H&S disco team are already getting things rolling, and we’re looking for a couple of parents to join the organising crew. It’s light, fun work and a great way to help create a night our kids absolutely love.

Email us or PM the page to let us know you’re interested in helping organise the disco. Volunteers for the night itself will be called for when tickets go on sale.

More details soon - for now, pop 19 June in the diary.
