Are you looking for a supportive working environment with team members who enjoy coming to work? Our Cook Extraordinaire is going on maternity leave for one year. This role will start in August 2026.
Our family run early childhood centre caters for 55 children aged from 3 months to 5 years. We provide a nurturing setting where our ‘home’ cooked meals help to create an inclusive and home like environment for tamariki. Our kitchen really is the heart of our centre.
Our perfect cook will be calm, cheerful, tidy, and most importantly a great cook. They will have some knowledge on special dietary requirements, including cooking for allergies. When they start they will be trained by our current cook, and over a few months will gain control of the menu, and be expected to keep on top of the maintenance and paperwork associated with the kitchen. We don’t want to throw anyone into this important job too quickly.
The hours for this position are flexible, but ideally 8:30am - 3:15
