The centre provides excellent preschool care and education for all preschool children over two years of age, with high teacher ratios and glowing ERO (Educational Review Office) reports. The centre has a spacious open plan indoor area with great resources, and a large, safe outdoor area which includes a giant sandpit, slide, swings, fort and a level grass area which all lead young imagination in p

lay. The centre has a tier system for enrolments, based on two levels:
Tier 1: children who live within the Pauatahanui Preschool zone. Tier 2: children who live outside the zone
Information about this can be optained from the preschool. The preschool is managed in its entirety by a voluntary management committee of centre parents, who are elected each year in March. This committee works closely with the centre supervisor/head teacher, Chris Nolan, to ensure the smooth running of the centre on all levels including staff/teaching contracts, ministry requirements/regulations and financial auditing. The centre joined the free early childhood education government scheme in February 2008 (better known as 20 free hours), which entitles all 3 and 4 year olds to 20 free hours free childcare per week. Normal fees, with partial funding as per all preschool centres, apply to all children under 3 years old, and to children aged 3 and 4 who attend for more than 20 hours per week. The centre is open full days, 9am -3pm Monday-Thursday and 8.30am - 12.45pm on Fridays.

Pāuatahanui Preschool currently has limited spaces available for children aged 2 to 5 years on Wednesdays and Fridays (9:00am - 3:00pm).

We offer a warm, nurturing environment where children can learn, play, explore, and grow in confidence through meaningful experiences, friendships, and relationships.

⛳️GOLF DAY OUT - 8th MAY 2026 ⛳️

Time to get your teams in! Last year we sold out, so make a sure you get in early, and don't miss out on a fun day in support of the preschool.

If you have a business or know of a business that maybe interested in supporting our golf day please let me know.

There are multiple ways to get businesses involved:
1. Teams of 4 ($100 per person) - We had a full course last year with 80 Players!!!

2. Hole sponsorship $250 per hole, businesses that may not have items to donate or a team, can sponsor a hole and put their branding at the hole.

3. Donation of items/vouchers, which we can either auction off or sell as mystery vouchers.

Lets make this a huge success for the preschool again!
