🌼 DAFFODIL DAY 🌼

Our Friday crews turned up in yellow today for Daffodil Day, and quickly got busy in yellow and green themed activities.

The kids made cornflour loop and also our wee artists also made some masterpieces on our painting screen. We have even set up a fun science experiment to see what happens to daffodils that are in different coloured water. 👀

We're thinking of everyone who is currently battling through cancer, and those who are beside them supporting. Sending strength to you all.

⭐️ Mānawatia a Matariki

We marked the end of term as well as an early celebration of Matariki last week with our centre whānau coming together, sharing kai and korero and spending some time beside the ahi (fire) roasting some marshmallows and making smores. We were so blessed with stunning clear skies and all our tamariki laughing an playing together but this time, in the dark!

These are what memories are made of! A chance for us to all come together and get to know each other a little more too outside busy session times. Well and truely embracing whakawhanaungatanga (building relationships) and kotahitanga (unity).

We are closed for the next week as part of term break and reopen again on Monday 20th July with our Under Ones session.

If you'd like to book a visit for Term 3, flick us a DM. We are open Wednesday and Friday 9.30-12pm

😲Wayne's been at it again!

Recently Wayne, a local Grandad and all-round legend, has taken up the task to help us give some of our tired equipment some much needed TLC. He has already knocked some of our puzzles and other outdoor tables out of the park with their revamps (see some of our previous posts - amazing stuff).

So we asked if he wouldn't mind taking a look at our very depressed art easel and seeing what he could do?

Well....this make-over is absolutely epic, and has saved the easel from scrap! We are so lucky to have an amazing supportive community in Pirongia and Te Awamutu, and are so so SO grateful for both Wayne, but also Industrial Blast and Paint who donated their time and materials in sandblasting off all the rust, and repainting it too!

We are in awe.
The kids absolutely love it.
Thank you for supporting our little centre and tamariki!

🌹 We are closed tomorrow in remembrance of the ANZACS

Looking for something to do with the kids this long weekend?

Why not have a go baking these ANZAC biscuits? They are quick and easy and ready to eat in less than 25 minutes what's not to love!

T H A N K Y O U 💗

Some of our play equipment has had some tlc and repairs this term. Wayne (a local grandparent) has kindly hand-crafted and painted pieces missing from our puzzles. You can barely spot the new additions, he’s done an amazing job.
🦋A new body for the butterfly,
🌞an eye for the sun/Ra,
🐸frogspawn
🧥and a jersey for the boy

We are so grateful for our amazing village - this is what Playcentre is all about!
Thank you Wayne, they're a hit with the kids.
