Again we say thank you to all the lovely ladies who came in and helped us with our knitting. Despite the picture the kids loved it and look how amazing their hot water bottles came out.

So proud of the 8 Pirinoa School students we taught to knit! 🧶 Over 5 days, they knitted hot water bottle cover backs (finished with fabric backing). They were polite, cheerful, enthusiastic, and totally chuffed with the final results!

Approximately half our kura made it to the Science Roadshow today at Featherston while the others busy rippa rugby-ing!

Our students were really engaged and fascinated by the experiments shared and the hands on time exploring a large range of interactive exhibits.

A great day at Ongaha Bush just north of Martinborough yesterday.

Thanks very much once again to Rod and Jane for all their organisation and commitment to providing these opportunities for our students. These trips increase our students’ knowledge and attitudes towards the environment, ecosystems and students learn about being a good kaitiaki (guardian) of the whenua and giving back by planting young plants.

Our students heard another one of Rod’s great stories shared on the banks of the Ruamahanga awa, and then they all planted a large number of natives after learning about the 3 cut planting method!

The day was wrapped up with a short explore and run around in the mature bush nearby.

A great day out for the kids at the South Wairarapa Rippa Tournament. Thanks to the parents and teachers that helped get all our kids up to Carterton.

We also understand that there are a lot of bugs going around at the moment, and we know that when children are unwell, staying home to rest and recover is the right thing to do. ❤️

Please continue to look after yourselves, get plenty of rest and stay home when sick so we can help keep our school community healthy.
