Our aim is to help you surf better, faster, safer, with perfect technique. At Piha Surf School you will create good habits and iron out bad ones. We explain rips and how to get out to the best waves and how to be safe around others. Surfing is all about catching that magic wave that puts a smile on your face all week. Beginners don't have to leave chest-deep water while top surfers can be videoed

and have their surfing analysed frame by frame to optimise their potential. Our lessons are tailored to best meet the needs of each surfer's ability. Most importantly, Piha Surf School is Surfing New Zealand and Water Safe NZ registered and our instructors are ISA qualified and are expert water people. (Be aware of unqualified imitators operating at Piha)

Well done to our junior instructor Kyra, who won the Open Women's division of the Cape Classic in Westport over the weekend. Jai Wallis, one of our leading instructors, also tasted success at the same event, winning the Longboard division and placing 3rd in the Open Men's. Awesome results!
