What better way to welcome the change of season than with some very special spring visitors?
We were very fortunate to spend a morning last week with the most gorgeous baby goats, who brought plenty of energy, curiosity and joy to everyone they met!
These little kids were full of life and wonderfully patient as they received plenty of pats, cuddles and admiration from their very excited fans 🥰 Their playful personalities made for such a memorable morning and the perfect way to celebrate the arrival of spring.
A very special thank you to our wonderful family for sharing their precious babies with us. We’re so grateful for the opportunity to enjoy these beautiful little visitors and create some lovely springtime memories together.
Here’s to a season filled with sunshine, happy moments, and perhaps a few more four-legged visitors! 🌼

We managed to raise $105 this year for Daffodil Day which is a solid effort! All the money raised has been donated to Cancer Society, thank you again for everyone’s support and for dressing up in yellow! ⭐️ ☺️ 🌻 🌼

Ngaa mihi nui ki te whaanau! An enormous thank you to our families for joining us tonight to celebrate Matariki! 🌟
Our tamariki spent the day preparing soup from the vegetables gifted to us by our whaanau, and tonight they preformed special waiata for their whaanau, and shared the kai they had made. We had fantastic whaanau support, full puku, and perfect weather.

It is an annual tradition at Morrinsville Kids to hold a wheel-a-thon to raise money for our local volunteer Fire Brigade. This year we raised $2642.00! An enormous thank you to our centre whaanau who supported and sponsored this event, and to our local fire fighters who gave up their morning to visit the centre and share their fire engine with us 🥰

Today was all about celebrating kindness at Morrinsville Kids. We spoke about what being a good friend looks like, and how we can be kind to each other … the centre was filled with the colour pink, kindness, and lots of smiles 🩷

This morning our curious toddlers led the way in creating their own “gloop” sensory play! After requesting this favourite messy mix, the tamariki measured and mixed cornflour and water, and also chose the colours to mix together. Our kaiako supported their choices as little hands explored texture, movement, and imagination.

Using spoons added an extra layer of learning, by building fine motor and spoon control skills through play. Gloop is just one of the many sensory-rich experiences within our programme, alongside slime, foam, playdough, and much more. These fun sensory activities help our tamariki to explore, experiment, and discover through hands-on learning.

In te ruma Kiwi (our space for our youngest tamariki), we follow a natural development philosophy where we encourage and support infants and toddlers to try things for themselves, make movements, and achieve physical milestones in their own space and time. We live by our philosophy that whanaungatanga (relationships) are the foundation for all learning. Having strong relationships as a foundation for care, means children feel encouraged and supported by kaiako as they actively explore and engage in play experiences.
