🌟 We’re out exploring today! 🌟

Patumahoe Mauku Playcentre is closed today because our tamariki and whānau are swapping the Playcentre playground for a whole lot of bouncing, climbing, jumping and fun at BOUNCE! 🤸‍♀️🙌

We’ll be back at centre tomorrow, Thursday 27 August, from 9am–12pm — hopefully with everyone’s feet firmly back on the ground! 😂💜💛

One more day to come and discover a little Playcentre magic… 🧚‍♀️✨

Today, a pair of wings, a tunnel and a friend became a whole fairy adventure — with plenty of crawling, flapping, exploring and imagination along the way. 💜

That’s the wonderful thing about child-led play. Give tamariki the time, space and freedom to follow their ideas, and you never quite know where their imagination will take them.

Who needs forwards when you’ve mastered reverse? 😂🚗💨

These two little drivers were busy showing off their skills today. There was just one small detail… neither has quite worked out the whole going forwards thing yet.

Reverse? Absolutely.
Forward? Apparently completely unnecessary. 😂

At Playcentre, learning happens everywhere — even behind the wheel of a Little Tikes car! Through play, tamariki experiment, problem-solve, practise new skills and work things out in their own time.

And sometimes the grown-ups just get to stand back and enjoy the entertainment. 💜💛

We're off on an adventure!

Tomorrow (Wednesday 3rd June) our whānau will be out exploring at Macpherson Quarry.

At Playcentre, learning doesn't just happen within our gates. We love exploring our community, asking questions, making discoveries, and seeing where children's curiosity takes us. Tomorrow's adventure will be full of opportunities to observe, wonder, learn, and connect with the world around us.

There will be no session at the centre tomorrow morning while we're out exploring.

We'll be back at the centre on Thursday and Friday from 9am–12pm and would love to see you then.
