Live to work or work to live?
This was the theme that inspired our meeting and speeches this week. Great work Natalia stepping into the toastmaster role.
A big call out to Loes for her prepared speech sharing her journey with Toastmasters from her very first meeting.
Great participation today and 10/10 for clever use of pauses instead of filler words by all participants too!

Seems like yesterday we had our first meeting of June. Laura as Toastmaster did a great job of making us reflect on our shopping desires with her theme of “Retail Therapy: Treat or Trap” and Natalia as our table topics master gave us some great topics to speak about. Here’s a few photos of our meeting.

Today we had a great meeting with a theme of “Overcoming Challenge”. Every member had a turn at impromptu speaking with a Table Topic. Definitely the topics stretched even some of our most experienced members - some having to really call on their learned speaking techniques.
If you’re interested in developing your public speaking skills come along to our next meeting 3rd week of May.

At our first Toastmasters meeting in March we were joined by Cedric our Area Director and Pippa chaired the meeting as Toastmaster with a theme of ‘Spontaneity’. She encouraged all to be present, forget the pre-prepared table topic ideas and lean in to the unknown. Great participation from all and the tightly folded table topics we each had to unwrap kept us on our toes too.

Ho,ho, ho! To celebrate our final meeting of the year, Sam our Toastmaster, led a Christmas themed meeting. We mixed it up with all members presenting and evaluating a table topic and finished the meeting with the ‘bang’ of Christmas crackers. It was wonderful hearing about everyone’s Christmas traditions and experiences!
🙏A big thank you to our committee for making sure everything ran smoothly this year and our new members for your energy and participation.
🎄 We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, a wonderful new year and a lovely holiday break. See you all back on the 14th January!

A great meeting today led by Betty (her first time as Toastmaster - well done!) with a theme of “Perseverance” and we were also joined by Cedric our Area director (which we always enjoy).
A big congrats to Glen for presenting his first Pathways speech and winning our MIST award! It’s always really inspiring to us all when someone is giving a speech that’s been practised and carefully prepared.
Laura led a fantastic table topics session with us creatively challenged to talk about a random object given to us… and surprise, surprise we all nailed it!
Can’t wait until next time!
