Seasons are changing - reminder SunSmart policy comes into effect term 4 this starts Monday 12th October please ensure your child has a named sunhat (wide brimmed is preferred!!).
If you wish not to use the sunblock provided please ensure a named, in date bottled of sunblock is provided to us before Monday 12th October!

Kia ora e te whānau,

As you may have seen this week, it is Onesie Appeal Week, with donations going towards Wellington Free Ambulance. These donations help provide vital equipment needed by their amazing team, including blood glucose monitors, transwarmer baby warming blankets to help keep babies warm during transport, digital thermometers, and specialised equipment designed to safely transport even the smallest patients to hospital.

This Friday, 11th September, Little Farm Preschool and Nursery will be having our very own Onesie Day!
We will be collecting koha (gold coin donations) to support Wellington Free Ambulance and the incredible service they provide to families across Wellington and the Greater Wellington region.
So, come along in your favourite onesie or PJs and help us support this very worthwhile cause!

Little Farm Preschool and Nursery is learning animal interactions.

The nursery experienced some new animal interactions this week.
Zachary Quack and Bill 🦆 have moved homes to the goat paddock. They showed the nursery tamariki how they had a bath.
Larry the lamb 🐑 came for a visit and a bottle feed.

We have a few spaces opening up in the nursery as some of our friends turn 2.

Every day in our Three-Year-Old Room, our kaiako thoughtfully set up intentional learning experiences designed to support and extend each tamaiti development.

These experiences give tamariki the opportunity to explore, discover, create, and lead their own learning through play. Our role as kaiako is to be alongside them—observing, encouraging, asking meaningful questions, and providing support when it's needed.

We love watching each child's unique interests, confidence, and curiosity grow as they take the lead in their learning journey and explore their individual learning outcomes!

Aroha is one of our core values here at Little Farm.
We genuinely show love to our tamariki, their whānau, and our kararehe (animals).

Last night we celebrated Marariki with whānau that were able to attend.
Dancing, bubbles, books, kai and other activities filled our night.
Although it wasn’t a competition the nursery team were award 2 michelin stars for their soup. Our guests judges were impressed with the evening and soup that was on offer, along with the fantastic fry bread that Tiāre, Marlee, Tyson and Tevita’s whānau kindly made for us all to share.

Core Principles of the Season
The Māori New Year is centered around three primary principles:
1. Remembrance (Matariki Hunga Nui): Honoring loved ones who have died since the last rising of the stars.
2. Celebrating the Present (Matariki Ahunga Nui): Gathering with family and friends to share food, give thanks, and celebrate life.
3Looking to the Future (Matariki Manako Nui): Making plans, setting intentions, and looking forward to the promise of a new year.
