We have a new look at Educare 💫

This month marks an exciting new chapter as we introduce a refreshed Educare brand, including a new logo and visual identity.

Our new branding reflects who we are today and our vision of growing together through learning and play.

While our look is evolving, what matters most remains the same: providing a safe, caring and engaging place where tamariki feel they belong, learning is nurtured through play, and strong relationships between whānau and kaiako help every child thrive.

You’ll start to see these updates introduced gradually across our centres, website, communications, and more over time.

Thank you for being part of our Educare whānau.

🌱 Growing confidence in our tamariki.

Moving from our Kiwi space into Kea is an exciting milestone for our tamariki, and we’re taking a more gradual and familiar approach to help each child feel confident and secure along the way.

Our transition vests help tamariki feel recognised and prepared as they begin spending time in their new space. With a familiar kaiako alongside them, they can explore the new environment, meet new people and become familiar with different routines — all at their own pace.

These small, supported steps help make a big transition feel manageable, familiar and positive. 💛

Because when tamariki feel safe and supported, they can confidently take the next step in their learning journey.

Today our Kea tamariki embraced the joy of exploring and navigating our outdoor garden. 🌿☀️

Our garden is a space where curiosity leads the way, encouraging tamariki to take safe risks, connect with nature, and strengthen their growing bodies and minds. It was wonderful to watch their smiles as they explored together, supported one another, and discovered something new around every corner. 💚

Today some of our oldest tamariki headed out on an exciting hikoi to the local railway station! Along the way we practised our road safety skills, explored our local community, and enjoyed observing everything around us.

As some of our oldest learners, this excursion provided an opportunity to build confidence, independence, and responsibility while strengthening their connection to the wider community. Experiences like these encourage curiosity, communication, and a sense of belonging as tamariki learn through real-life adventures.

Over the past two days, our Kotuku tamariki have been busy creating their very own gingerbread people! Yesterday, they carefully mixed, rolled, cut, and baked their creations, and today they had so much fun decorating them with colourful icing and decorations.

This hands-on experience was a wonderful opportunity to explore the importance of baking, following a sequence of steps, developing patience, and working together. The best part? Enjoying a yummy reward that they created themselves! We love providing meaningful learning experiences that build confidence, creativity, and practical life skills through play.

Well done, Kotuku! We hope you enjoyed every bite! 💚

Today our tamariki became little gardeners and harvesters as they carefully picked fresh lemons from our centre’s lemon tree. Together, they explored nature using all of their senses—feeling the smooth skin, noticing the fresh citrus scent, comparing colours, and counting the lemons they collected.

Tomorrow, we’ll use our harvest to make delicious homemade lemonade, creating meaningful connections between where our food comes from and the experiences we share together.

These moments reflect the aspirations of Te Whāriki, supporting tamariki to develop a sense of Mana Aotūroa | Exploration, as they investigate the natural world with curiosity, confidence, and wonder.

Today our precious pēpi in the Kiwi Room immersed themselves in a beautiful sensory art experience. With tiny hands exploring different textures, colours, and materials, they discovered, created, and expressed themselves in their own unique ways.

At Educare Kāpiti, we value open-ended experiences that allow our pēpi to explore at their own pace, fostering creativity through responsive, play-based learning.

🌟 Our hearts (and tummies!) are full after this morning’s Matariki Breakfast. 🌟

There is something truly special about starting the day surrounded by our amazing tamariki, whānau, and kai. 💙

From sharing warm hash browns, savouries, hot chocolate, and coffee, to watching tamariki explore, play, and connect, this morning was a beautiful reminder that Matariki is all about coming together, reflecting on the year that’s been, and looking ahead with hope.

Thank you to every whānau member who joined us and helped make the morning so memorable. Your presence is what makes our Educare Kāpiti community so special.
